Sharon, Ruthella's son was called back early due to some problems on the base with some of his guys...so she and her hubby had to take him back early and pickup his stuff since he is deploying again. I felt bad for her...especially since she hadn't seen him in quite a long time. Just thought I'd let you know.
The VFW in Spring Hill is having a Benefit Dinner & Dance on Oct. 17 @5:30..all proceeds will be used to buy supplies for our troops..the cost is $16.50 per person...would you be interested
Hello there Sharon. Yes havn't been on here in awhile. How is your boy?? Wow another C school. How is he doing in C school. It was a little intense for Skylar at first but he is doing much better . It is very fast paced. Skylar is getting ready to take he Petty Officer test. Is your son already one. He is going to Italy, wow, yes great excuse for a trip there. Skylar was informed that he will doing FMTB and then from there who knows. All of his instructors have been deployed once or twice. What is your son in C school for again, was it surgery tech???
Sharon - lucky you - I did not save it - looked on You tube last night and tried to find. There was nothing top secret just the speech was so great that it acknowledges what they have to go through to get to that point.
Did laugh myself silly watching corpsman keep busy dancing to songs or a big one is drinking pee???? yes you read it right - hope my son does not get to that point for entertainment. (lol)
Hi stranger. How is your doing in C school? I am sure that he is doing well. I just read above here that your sons friend died of leukemia. I am so sorry. That is such a young age. My brother had that but is 13 years post bone marrow transplant.
Susan (Mom of Coy) her son was in Ambers corpsmen class.
Sharon - There is a book free download on Oprah.com and it has a dachsund as part of the story. It is a new novel. I think you have to download by this eve. Not sure if 24 hr or 48 free.

I just wanted to tell you I met your son today. I took a picture for you so when I get home I will send it to you. You have a great son, which you already know about. We went to the base to get some pictures and he was sitting outside so Scott introduced him to me. I guess they have discussed our Navy for Mom connection. It is gorgeous here but of course I live in farm country. I have had a great time and dread leaving on Thursday. Only 2 more days here. Take care and when I get back I will get the picture to you.
Sharon - I hope that frame is as pretty as you stated (lol). I tracked one down to a CB in upstate NY. There are none near me. I think the closest is Connecticut. Well they had one and will hold until tomorrow when the offices are open to take my card info. FYI - tomorrow is goes on sale 25% off. Felt you did me a favor - I would do you one. Thank you for sharing.
Scott had planned on coming home for the 4th and I think he said he will try for Labor Day if they have a 4 day leave then. Enjoy your visit. Thanks for the picture, it does look like a bunch of college kids having a good time. I know the class is tough but I am glad they do special things to give them a break also. Take care!
Sharon I would love for you to send me the picture of the Surgical Tech class in Virginia. My son is in the picture. my e-mail is rss78@mchsi.com. It would be great for his scrapbook I am doing. I am going to Virginia this week to see Scott. Can't wait to see him and get pictures of the area. Thanks!
She came in Thursday evening. She had her friend pick her up at the airport and then came to the house Friday evening not knowing her dad picked up an extra shift. She surprised him when he came home at 11p. I can truely say that I have never been that surprised before in my life. I was literally gasping for breath. When I heard the door I was thinking that either they did not need Gary and he was coming home or my youngest daughter that had just left the house five minutes earlier had car problems or something. So when I got up to see who was coming in the back door Amber was the last person on this earth I was expecting. Of course she spent most of her time with her friends, but thats ok. I know that she will be home in about 5 weeks and then we will see what the reserves has in their plans for her.
I am waiting to hear from Amber right now to see how she did on todays test. She just can't seem to get over that 84-85% average.
I am so glad that Devin loves what he is doing. It makes such a different in their performance. Sounds like he is adjusting well. That football and wrestling might come in handy with softball if he is sliding into a base LOL.
We have been getting rain. Just last week we got out of the drought that we have had for the past two years. Right now we are in a severe thunderstorm watch until 11p. It has been muggy here the past few days. We still have not turned on our air. We try to hold out until it gets in the high 80's or above before we turn it on. My mother lives in Gulfport MS and she turns hers on in early April. Our vege garden and flowers are doing really well. The garden would do better if I could keep the squirrels out of it. They have never bothered it before so I do not know why they have such an interest in it this year.
Well I am rambling. Oh I have one question. Do they have 2 weeks of labs and 2 weeks of clinicals or just one week of each in corpsmen school.
Sorry~I have ust been busy outside when I get home. Plus I had to send Amber her laptop, and my other daughters cord messed up. I don't like getting on the desk top computer of ours at home. I get on here at work sometimes but don't really like to write much when at work.
Your pictures are great. I hope that you enjoyed your time with Devin and your other son. How is Devin liking school? Amber takes test nine today. She has passed all of the tests so far, but scored lower then she wanted to on 2 of them. She is hoping to score high today to be higher than an 85% average. She is enjoying her time right now. 7 weeks and she will be home. Then she has to sign in with her reserve unit.
But I do wish I was on a great vacation!!!
She was to phase up last week but forgot she had her cell phone in her pocket when she went to study group. And being the wonderful mother that I am I texted her before I went to bed wishing her luck on her test the next day and it went off in class!. I felt bad but she said she should not of had it with her. She said no big deal, but that she would find out today if they will phase her up.
I know that you can not wait to see your son. Have a wonderful weekend with your family at the wedding.
Amber passed test 4. 8 more to go. Her average is 84.5 she wants it above 85. but sounds like she is taking studying to heart and leaves Saturdays to treat herself to fun activities with people in her class. Update me on the wedding after you have recooped. Hope you post some pictures.
