Julie: you get credit too for the turn out. thank you for bringing the name tags as well. It was fun meeting the new moms and catching up with you. Keep me posted on how Cory is doing and if the date does turn out to be acurate. If you and Staci get together in the next few weeks, I would love to join you. I will be gone next week, visiting my daughter and again on the 14th visiting Alex before he leaves for the sandbox.
Have a great week.
I am so glad that you got to speak to Cory on the way home on Saturday. I am sure just jearing his voice made you feel a bit better. It is so hard know ing that our kids are going to be away and that we cannot talk to them whenever we want. I just hate that, but that is my child's job and I do respect it. I cry alot also. when Jim first went to the Academy, I cried for an entire month! Cory is a terrific young man. You just have to keep thinking that and know that he will contact you at the moment he is able to. I know these are just word, but also remember I am here to talk at any time.
Your going to need to send me Cory's address when he goes out next time ---I am so sending that kiddo something. He is just awesome. Its like he has taken Tucker under his wing. Tell him that news shall pass on to Tucker when I hear from him next :)
And you know what he said is EXACTLY what I was thinking I didn't want to come all out and say *I think my son must have done awesome because his orders are so awesome. BUT dang I knew they were GREAT orders, and they would not send pond scum to them (know what I mean)
Oh Julie, it's not a big deal at all. Would have loved to get together, but I know how it goes. Sometimes it just happens that way. ;-) Have a great rest of the week, and we'll touch base when I get back from Rocky Point.
Aw you are so sweet! if you think itll be too late, which it might be, then you can always send it here, and ill make sure he gets it first thing! just let me know what you decide and ill shoot you my address c:
Good Morning! The AZ exemption is good for 1-year. Plus, you can only purchase a renewal for 1-year. You will have to go through this every year. Fun! :-)
Hi Julie, it's great to hear from you. I'm doing so much better, my son PIR was 9-18-09 and it was wonderful, just thinking my emotions are crazy. The day was "The Proudest Day of my Life". I'll share with you the pictures and the memories about my son. I am planning to attend the coffee. My other son is having a breakfast the morning with his Football Team here in my house, I'll try to change the morning for another date. Talk to you soon. Have a nice trip.
Hiya BFFF:)! I'm currently sitting in the Denver airport . . . hour 1 of an almost 3 hour layover - I'll be getting in to Tucson around 10 tonite . . .
It's been a FABULOUS trip - your ears MUST have been burning the last few days . . . everyone wants to see you:)!
I'm working tomorrow morning so good thing I'm able to sleep on the plane . . . I sure haven't been sleeping too long the last 10 nights:)! But SOOOOOOOO worth it:)!
GIANT HUGS:)!
Morning Julie,
I hope you have a good time on your trip to Branson. I have a sister that lives not far from there. It's a beaufiful area!! I will get a welcome message to Kaylasmom as soon as I can. I just went through the week from hell. I was told on Tues. that myself and 2 other employees were being laid off. We knew things were touch and go with the company and it's been very stressful not knowing if or when more layoffs would happen. I've never in my life been in this situation. I've worked steady since I was 16. I've never even needed a resume... the jobs were always waiting for me. On a happier note, thanks to the wonderful recommendations from my boss I have a job lined up working for an insurance company. It's only 25 hrs. a week and much less pay than I'm currently getting, but I am very grateful for the job offer. My boss if a kind and caring person and knows I can't make it on 25 hrs. per week, so he has offered to let me stay on part-time to make up the hrs. that I'm needing. Again for much less pay because the company is struggling financially. When I went to work here alittle more than 3 yrs. ago we had 40 employees. We are now down to 9. I am so thankful that Billy is secure and does not have these same concerns. It's like you said to Cory... worse things could happen than getting in trouble for not shaving. He is also in a good position right now. I am strong willed, motivated and determined, and I will hold my head up and ride out the storm. In the meantime, my monthly income will be dropping by more than $1,100, so I will need to make adjustments and live conservatively.
I'll be looking forward to hearing from you when you get back. Have a great time!!
Sorry about the mix up. I'll try to pay more attention to who I am talking to. (LOL) I too am looking forward to meeting you. Are you bringing anyone with you? My husband said he is going but that is amonth away so I hope nothing comes up that changes his mind! It will be fun to meet other Navy moms (and dads) in the area.
Julie - sorry that you will not be with Cory on his birthday - that will be hard. I missed Kev's 23rd this summer, it was the first one that I didn't get to spend with him. He classed up on Sept. 1 and should be finished in November. He will be home from October 2 to October 4 for my daughter's wedding. It will be very difficult to say goodbye to him, especially after sending my daugher off with her new husband the night before. Guess I better bring lots kleenex to the airport. Since the wedding will be over, the get together comes at a great time. I look forward to seeing you and all the other moms, and hearing about Cory's adventures.
I would LOVE to get together anytime you're down . . . so, is that a hint that you're ready for some salsa? LOL:)! Wish you were here . . . we're having a GREAT time! GIANT HUGS:)!
Hiya BFFF . . . Had lunch with Trisha today . . . what a sweetie she is! Were your ears burning? We did talk about you - LOL:)!
GIANT HUGS from Seattle:)!
WOW yeah I have to say Girlfriends scare me ---LOL LOL LOL (no joke)
Adopting these guys is coming in many more forms then sending packages, as we move furthur along we learn just how much we are needed at many different times. I had a sailor on deployment that would write me sometimes 4 times a day and we discussed weather he should propose to GF when he got home. I was his mom for that decision process ( he did not propose, they are still just dating) SO go ahead and cry mom ---this pinning ceremony is very special. GIVE him Hugs from his mom in Oregon
I was very excited that I would meet you on Oct 17th but as I am writing this I see you are not able to attend. That is a bummer! But weddings are fun so I hope you have a good time. We'll meet up one of these days! I'm so glad you got to spend time with your son. I think that is what is going to happen when my son comes home, he'll be out with his friends most of the time. Oh well, guess he has to live his life not mine. Talk to you soon.
Hi Julie, thanks for the messages! It turns out that I'm not going to be able to attend the coffee meet on Oct. 17th. Some friends of mine have set their wedding date for that Saturday and I am obligated to attend. When I hosted my get together, I posted the event on the NavyDads site also, but only a couple of people responded. Rather than set up an event, would it be alright if I just send a message to all the AZ group members there telling them about the coffee meet? I can continue to send reminder messages as the date gets closer and then let Janette know how many responses I had. Let me know if that will be ok.
Billy was home for the Labor Day weekend. His 20th birthday was on the 5th. It was a pretty laid back weekend and I barely saw him on his B-Day as he was busy with friends most of the day. But, as I always say... I'll take any time I can get and appreciate it.
I'm glad you got through the memorial and all that went with it. I realize things have been crazy busy for you. Again, it's an open ended invitation, so no worries.
