Yes I will be at the potluck. We're changing the location to Randolph Park because all the current DEPPERS and their parents and all the recruiters for Tucson and Sierra Vista will be there!
Will you be attending? I sure hope so! I need to remember to bring stuff for name tags....lol
Hi Gloria:
Welcome to N4M!! I lived in Oracle when I was young (9-18 yrs old). My brother and his wife still live in Oracle and they have a son in the Navy, Sam. He's stationed in San Diego!
Is your son a corpsmen? How long has he been in? My son is in Sonar and just reported to his ship in the Gulf. He went to Boot Camp last February.
I'd love to get to know you better....hopefully we both can attend the Tucson gathering the end of January.
Good Morning:)! I'm working on putting together something for later in Jan - I was thinking about the 24th . . . after the holiday season settles down - what do you think? HUGS to you today:)!
Thank you Gloria. Glenn started getting sick after Boot Camp in GL. He came home for Christmas leave and began with very high fevers, body aches, trouble breathing, etc. He spent 6 1/2 weeks in ICU here in New York. They had to drain his lungs and his heart from fluids. (they cut him open about two inches both directions). The Navy allowed him to recover at home until March 08. The end of March he went back to GL to start/finish A school as a corpsmen. He was on steroids the entire time and feeling good. At the end of July he went off the steriods and was stationed to Litlle Creek Virgiina (Boone Clinic). In September he started feeling sick again. He has been hospitalized twice in Virginia. (Portsmouth Hospital) This time they sent him home just to recover. He goes back November 1st and has a doctor's appointment on Novmeber 3rd. Hopefully we can get some answers from that visit. The doctors are just saying it is some "auto immune diease" but they are not sure which one. Please keep praying. My son (since 6 years old) wanted to be in the military..hopefully this will not destroy his dream... love Carol
Hello Gloria. My son is also stationed in Virginia. However, he is in the (Portsmouth Hospital) Boone Clinic which is in LIttle Creek. I have been to base and the hospital. ;Both are very nice.
Hi Gloria, Welcome to NFM:)! We have a group for those from or with ties to Arizona and would love to have you join . . . also there's a potluck planned in the Phoneix area for Nov 8th, if that works into your schedule:)!
