He's halfway through prototype. We live in Troy. Our recruiter is in Collinsville office. (notice I call him "our recruiter?" He gave me a big hug today when I took in Halloween treats.)
Can't believe that in December I will have lived in Illinois half my life. How time passes when you are married to a great man!
It's neat that you know where I live! I was just in Glen Carbon last night. Also, even though our sailor currently does not have a military address (he lives off base) I was pleasantly surprised when UPS gave me a discount with a pix of my son in uniform.
Be sure you use the Post Office flat rate boxes if it fits. I shipped 4 boxes this week at their discounted $11.95 a box price.
How soon they get their packages depends upon how easily they can get to the mail room. He should have more time during indoc. We sent those electronics by UPS, which gives a military discount, and he had them within a week. Some later packages did not get picked up for quite a while since he had such long study hours. Hope that helps!
Hi- just got a call from Brandon guess their divsion is getting a special flag at the graduation for Academics. YEAH. He said their division has the highest scores there. He sounded so good. It was nice to hear his voice. Haven't talked to him since the day he got in. Got my first LONG letter from him last week. I think I've read about 10 times. Just so I can see his writing and try to imagine where he is what he's doing.
I thought I would give you an update.
Hope all is well. Laurie
We will be staying in Waukegan. Your son might be grad-n-go, although I know the prototype is having trouble and has backed up everyone else. Anyhow, let's stay in touch about rates and, you know, stuff (ha! ha!). I taught today, so my brain is a bit mushy now.
We are so glad that you are here! This is a great place to meet others that know exactly how you feel!
We have something for everyone here groups from boot camp moms to overseas moms and moms that like to scrap book. We have meet and greets to events that the moms set up to meet each other and have dinner or an outing. There are groups to help you with each and every step of this wonderful adventure that our children have chosen called the US Navy.
Please tell us about your sailor and what they have chosen to do in the navy and ohh yeah we LOVE pictures of everyone !!
Please let me know if you have any questions I can help you with.

I've been trying to upload a couple of photos from the latest PIR and can't seem to get it right.
It was suggested that I contact you.
I thought I would give you an update.
Hope all is well. Laurie
