Silverdale is fine, not the most interesting place ever and not a lot to do, but close to seattle :).
I live on base right in the middle of everything in an apartment. The places, both apartments and town houses are very very nice! We got BAH almost immediately. He got there June 4th, and we had a house the next week. If you have any more questions feel free to ask!! :D
hey girl.. i was just looking at my page for the first time in a while and noticed that your last comment to me was on the 3rd, telling me that you got your first email from alex.. well.. i got my first email from julian today. and just like you did, i was checking my email every 10 minutes, it was a little much but i was just dying to hear from him. the email was pretty short, he said he was real busy.. but im relieved that now i know the email is atleast working. anyway.. we should really catch up soon. do you have an aim screenname? (i talk to a bunch of navy girls on aim) let me know ok?
christine, hows it goin? congrats on making it this far. and i'm so happy for you that you got your first email. :) what you said about frantically checking your email and then being so happy when you finally got one feels like i'm looking into the future because i will be experiencing that very soon. this past weekend i said goodbye to julian because it was our last time seeing each other before he leaves, but he isnt actually underway yet.. a few more days because it keeps getting pushed up further and further, which is becoming more frustrating that relieving. i finally got to a good place where i accepted everything and developed a good attitude and was ready for him to go so that he could get back asap.. and now they wont leave! anyway.. i hope everything is going well with alex down there, and i hope everything is going well with you too.. do you use aim at all? we could chat sometime if you like.. i'd love to hear more about how its going and how the email process is since i'll be dealing with that soon.. and just about how you're getting through this in one piece. i'll be thinkin about you girl! take care and talk to you soon!
I'm not sure why it's taking so long. And we're not getting real answers from the person that is supposed to help us out about it. I'm getting frustrated because the first months' rent we had to use money from our wedding. Our rent is due Nov. 1st and we don't have money to pay for it this time. Plus we don't have a lot of food cause we dont have money for that either. It's just really frustrating and annoying but I will let you know! Congrats on getting married soon by the way! You must be very excited!

so wow! new plans for the wedding i see.. (or i should say MARRIAGE, new plans for the marriage lol since its all about the marriage, not the wedding right?! love u) well that's really cool.. julian and i were talking about doing something similar to that.. because its just hard to plan a wedding around our boys' every changing, unpredictable schedule huh? get married, and then you will be able to BE together and get all the benefits.. and take your time planning the beautiful ceremony/reception and all that. I know it's not the way normal couples do it, but hey.. military couples are anything but normal, and like we've been saying.. its not about the wedding!! anyway, moral of the story.. i'm on your side, girl.
i hate so much the judgement of getting married so early in life and in our relationship.. we havent been together very long, and i'm only 22... so people just dont understand, they think we're crazy and that it isnt going to work out.. and blahblahblah, no one ever gets it but you girls on here. i swear the military does something to mature you (you as in the person/people involved whether its the men, or US) and realize what you really want in life and whats important to you.. i am in love and want to marry julian and nothing is going to stop me..... but once in a while the things people say will get in my head and freak me out.. some guy i went to college with (he's a lot older than me) was telling me last night how he was engaged to a girl that he was with for 5 years.. they moved all over the country together, the whole works... and then they broke up and he is at a completely different place in his life. thats scary to me! and all of the statistics and divorce rates and everything... i know i need to block all of that out and trust and believe in what my heart is telling me because i KNOW that i am in love and belong with this man... ugh. this is all coming out right now because i had that conversation last night and its on my mind.. you know? anyway..
woo hooooo you are so close to graduating! that is very exciting, you're in that last stretch! i know how you feel, i just experienced that this past spring. it's going to feel great to graduate... i cant believe youre already applying for grad school!! you are one determined chica, i gotta hand it to you!! i dont think i'll ever be going back to school.. but if i did want to give grad school a shot i'm sure i would want to take a break for a couple years first. but hey.. power to ya!

hey girl.. well don't get too ahead of yourself haha we aren't engaged YET! soon.. but thanks for the congratulations though! your wedding sounds like its going to be just perfect. you are absolutely right about it being about the marriage, not the wedding.. i can see how that is easy for a lot of people to forget (especially brides) with all the exciting wedding planning and stuff.. and people dream about their wedding day being like a fairy tale.. but i think when people are in the military it puts things into perspective and you realize what is truly important, and that is, like you said, the marriage not the wedding. i have always dreamt of the fairy tale wedding and would complain to julian that the navy was going to make that so hard to get that to happen.. but i've recently come to my senses and realized that i just want to marry this man so that i can be with him every day for the rest of my life! I'm not sure i even want a huge wedding anymore!! So yours sounds great.. big enough to share with all of your friends and family, but not so materialistic that you are forgetting what you're actually celebrating.. right? I'm very happy for you guys Christine! :) And its not like your wedding cant be absolutely beautiful just because you're doing a lot of it yourself.. jeez if i was doing most of the decorating and such myself i would make sure it was beautiful! I can't wait to see lots of pictures! -- So it seems that Alex and Julian are going to be underway at about the exact same time.. it will be hard.. but i just got a new job to keep me busy.. and i'm going to try and pick up a few crafting projects and stuff. I also have a pen-pal that I met here on N4M and that's a really cool different thing to do also. -- Oh by the way, I loooove your idea of the "open me on.." cards! Obviously Julian wont be gone for many holidays but I decided to send a couple like that.. I have a couple other ideas that im gonna try to get together before he leaves too. I guess im just gonna send him with a big old manilla envelope filled with lots of stuff. -- So tell me, what IS a paraeducatior? I hope you find something that makes you truly happy in the PLACE that you are with Alex once you make the move.. because i know THAT will make you happy. Do you have any ideas on what kind of puppy you want?!! I want a puppy too someday! I saw that you were engaged now!!! Congratulations!!!!! You should definately share how he proposed!!! And if you're married when you move up then you guys should go for base housing! I'm excited for you!
hey girl, good to hear from you.. i hope i said this before when you announced your news in the group but if i didn't i've been meaning to say CONGRATULATIONS on your engagement!! <3 I am truly so happy for you. You must be sitting on top of the world. That is very exciting to meet and discuss wedding plans with both families, making it all seem more real. Does that mean you guys are trying to plan a traditional wedding instead of a city hall type deal like a lot of navy couples do? (so i hear) Julian and I aren't sure how we will handle that when the time comes.. but it's interesting that you messaged me today.. because just today Julian told me that he wants to get married in 2010! So it's just a matter of time.. and he is leaving soon for his first underway too.. (How long is Alex's supposed to be?) I'm really hoping that the underway will make him want to marry me that much more, realizing how much he misses and loves me. I just got hired on Monday for a "for now" job at a candy store near where i live. I've been struggling for 2 months to find a job and unfortunately this is what i can get at the moment and i have bills to pay so.. thats what's new with me. We live off base. We are in Port Orchard and it is a cute little town. Which base is your hubby at out here? I've only seen Bremerton and Bangor. Are you planning on moving out here?
Thanks for accepting my friend request. My hubby Mike is in WA stationed on the USS Stennis. He moved out here last August and then went on deployment this past January but he got home in June and so I packed up my things and moved with him :). It's been great living with him and I'm pretty happy with my decision. We are both from MI so its really far from home. Where is your man stationed? How long has he been in?

Hellooo.. everythings going okay.. i'm finished with my summer job so i've been unemployed for 2 weeks now and im kind of going nuts.. sitting in all day with nothing to do is making me miserable and so i find myself crying over everything Julian related.. its not fair to him, and it really sucks for me. I'm job hunting right now (which is tough) so hopefully something will come of that soon.. I really need to start keeping myself busy or i'm gonna go insane.. do you know what i mean? But yeah, the whole acting thing is kind of on hold right now. That's so funny what you said about U2.. i hate them too.. i'll admit that a couple of their songs are kinda catchy but the idea of this group of old men trying to be cool is really freaking annoying haha. So why were you crying over their song? Because it reminded you of Alex or something? Thats great that youre excited to get back to school.. i'm jealous! I still have some friends in school and theyre all getting ready to go back and i wish i was! Your time in Washington seems like a lot of fun, i'm happy for you guys.. Julian is coming home thursday night for the long weekend so I am very happy about that. It has only been 2 weeks since ive seen him but it feels like longer since i've been out of work (the days DRAG and ive been so miserable) so i really cant wait to see him. I should be there in November also. I liked the Bangor base better than Bremerton! It is a lovely area and Kenny and I had spent a whole day just driving around the Olympic National Park. I'm also ready to stay there too. I hate being so far away!! But I only have two more months then I will be there for good. How long are you going to stay when you go in November? If I'm there when you are we should try and meet up!!!
Yeah he's living at Bremerton right now. And yes he would've been carrying a big tv lol. I guess a bunch of the guys went to another guy's house Saturday and they all played X-Box so sunday they went and got the tv back. It's cool if you met him! He'll be coming home in November and we're getting married and then I'll be moving up there. Are you still planning on moving up there soon?? I'm glad you were finally able to go up there. What did you think of it?!
