Oh... well I don't know anything about Charleston hotels :( And nothing about car dealerships either - all my cars have been hand-me-downs! As for a hotel near Parris Island... he could probably tell you better than I could (I live on the other side of town) but there is a pretty nice Ramada Inn out near the Chick-Fil-A on Hwy 21/Boundary Street... that's about 8 miles from Parris Island I would say, or maybe they even have hotel accommodations ON Parris Island.
I'd be glad to help - where in Beaufort is he stationed? The Air Station or Parris Island? If I know that then I'll be able to help you more.
Also will you be flying or driving? And if flying - where will you be arriving? (Savannah?) If driving, will you be coming down I-95S? That way I can tell you how to get to wherever I suggest, haha.
Hi KH I just wanted to drop you a line and see how you were.I just got off the phone with Nate and he said to be sure to tell your son hi. Also I am looking at some pictures of the two of them...If you message me offline and tell me your personal e-mail I will send them to you...
Hello KH--Sorry I have not replied earlier--I just got your comment today--Guess I am really behind (LOL). Anyway, Brian has been at Naval Hospital Beaufort since march 9th. He is Master-At-Arms, and does police/patrol work. I don't know if he has actually worked in the hospital yet. What is your Sailor going for? Brian lives there on "base" at the hospital. He said there isn't much to do there--they are pretty isolated. He is looking into buying a vehicle he pretty much needs one to at least get to MCAS or Parris Island to shop, etc. Keep in touch--maybe Brian has already met your son! God Bless-Christine
Hi KH, Sorry for the delay but been really busy. Changed jobs, so my life is nuts!!! Anyway, I have only bought new cars in the area, not used so I'm no versed well in the used car bus locally and not real familiar with Comfort Suites. I've been to the big hotels locally for functions but not the smaller ones. I'll see if anyone I know has used them before and let you know. You will love Hilton Head if you like the beach, golf, tennis and just being layed back. Hilton Head is low key unlike Myrtle Beach. There are many town ordinances to keep it that way. We love it and have been here 20 years and never intend to move north again!!!
I found out when Nate came home at Thanksgiving and took his pillow back with him that he to did not get one.."they were out" he said...Unreal....
I hope things are good with you.
Nate is doing the same at Camp Lejuine as well..And yes I totally agree about the training and it scares the heck outta me..
I sent you a private message to your inbox....
Okay so now I'm pretty darn sure our boys know each other--I talked to Nate and his whole class got phased down for talking-gotta be the same class that's just too weird...any thoughts??
Hi KH, no my Nate is not on the drill team. And I too haven't seen him since PIR>>I am so waiting for Oct. graduation to hurry and get here...I don't know anything at all about the airplane re-route sorry but I will see if I can find anything out about it,and if I do I will let you know..
Hey KH, I like the new look and love the new icon photo! Check your e-mail box, left something for you there. Forgot to mention, you can easily send one by clicking on the "send a message" under your icon photo too, duh me! ttyl
KH, I sent you a private e-mail message. To receive a PM, go up to the top of this page. You will see your name with a tiny little envelope next to it and what looks like a tiny person next to that, that's what you click on to read them or just read it in your email box when you get the notification.
To send one, go to "my friends", scroll down to "send message to friends" (lower left), click and it will pop up a box. Warning, it will automatically send to ALL your friends, so click on the box to remove all the checkmarks! Then just scroll down the alphabetical list (don't have to go far for me!) to check the one you do want. Go down to the box, type in your message and hit send! Oh, also, you don't have to leave a reply to comments here on your page, No duplication necessary. Just click on the icon of the person who left you a comment and leave one on their page like you did today. That's where people look for replies. :-)
Just got back from vacation and noticed your comment. I will PM you Luke's last name but how do I do this. My son got a 91, 83 and an 86 so far on the tests. I am sure he could have studied more but at least he IS passing. He is on the drill team and has practice everyday as well.
Yes, Luke and I are close....can lead to arguing though...as I certainly know when he was here for 4 months prior to bootcamp. It was very trying and he drove me crazy!! Then, when he left, I cried forever and missed him so much....hey, no one to yell at!! He does call or I call him everyday...even a couple times a day. Maybe because he is the youngest. I do speak to both my daughters frequently as well as they are both away in college.
Hey, my son broke off of my at&t plan and established his own account. He bought a new phone and has a wireless account along with teathering to use his computer. Other than going to the mall again...do you know the navy email address or the Foundation Account Number to be able to get the Navy discount. I would have thought that they would have set it up for him when buying the phone, but no, of course not. They make things so difficult. Any information would be helpful. THanks!
Sounds like they are both doing well KH! Would love it if you would PM me his last name so that I can ask Mark if he knows him. I'm sure he does if your son is so friendly. :) Mark also said he was told this was a hard one and 13 had failed. They retook it yesterday, hope everyone passed this time! Last week, 2 guys scored 100, 2-98, 1-97, then Mark and another guy. They were told if you keep your avg. to 90% or higher, you can pretty much have your pick of "C" school. This time, he said all scores went down around 10%. :(
Your son sounds like Mark, same "not performing to potential" and disinterest in studying, figured either he knew it or he didn't. Usually did, well enough to get a decent grade without even trying. Think he's realizing he can't do that here! Lucky you, getting to talk to Luke that often, sounds like you two are super close! So are we, but Mark has always been unusually independent. When he was at college, we'd hear from him only once or twice a week or every other. He lived 45 minutes away! He's checking in about the same now. He knows Mom's waiting to hear about tests and that we like to touch base before the weekend, so he's trying to be conscientious and oblige. :) We can always post a note on his Facebook page if all else fails! Have a good weekend!
