Hi Marianne!
I am SO happy that you will meet Chris and THANK YOU for taking him to dinner with you!!!!! Please take lots of pictures!!! Chris thinks the world of your son and talks about him all the time. I will miss him this Christmas and this year I bet he wishes he was in Ft Lauderdale !!! We have a "cold front", it's about 65 outside now, but by Wednesday it's getting back up into the high 70's! I grew up in Chicago so I do know a thing or two about cold and snow! It's hard getting into the spirit down here, but you just have to crank up the AC in the car and home, and it's almost seasonal!!!!
I am definately going to make it to San Diego when they get in. My husband thinks I'm nuts, but that's OK! We'll meet then! Thank you for your generosity with my son!!!
Mariann...... You have 2 sons in the Navy!? I'm not sure I could deal with it if both of my sons were in the miliatary. You're right we do live very close to each other, and I am very anxious to meet everyone, I have a feeling it's going to be a long 4 years and I will need someone to relate to. I hoping to find out what all these acronmys stand for. So you won't be going to Great Lakes for the Jan graduation. Lucky you! What month did your sons graduate? A warmer one I hope. Though it's been pretty cold here lately I'm not looking forward to the weather in Great Lakes. Were you able to visit them in Pensacola? Well have a good night.
Judy
Dear Marianne,
How have you been? Thta's sounds like a nice Thanksgiving. It was just four of us, my older daughter's girlfriend ate over.
I was stuffed, and sick of turkey! HAHA! I only like the wing and neck anyway. Then the night was followed by the traditional movie "The March of the Wooden Soldiers! HAHA! I have on DVD.
I have some excitment coming up. In two weeks I have that ear surgery. It has to be done before the years out, due to the insurance being changed. Then 11 days later, I go down to Virginia to be with Kim. I'm going to be a first time grandma, I'm so excited. We're expecting a boy and his due date is Jan 2. I have some of his 3 D ultrasound images on my pictures.
I had a great time Sunday. It was wonderful meeting you and Maryann. We have to get together in January. I will need it after the holidays, especially after dealing with my crazy family. Take care and have a Happy Thanksgiving.
Thanks, Marianne! Great slide show and how exciting. My husband was on the Chancellorsville with my son after his first deployment. So nice to see the trip from your point of view as all our shots are looking the other way. Two sons in the Navy - God bless! My daughter is NROTC nursing corps so I guess I'll be joining the "more than one" group in two years.
Marianne,
I would love to go when they leave but my work situation just won't allow it. My main assistant left 2 months ago and I am not allowed to replace her. So, I am doing my job and her's! I will have 2 weeks vacation to carry over to next year, but don't know when I'll be able to use that!
Chris said he should be getting 8 days for Xmas, but I don't know the dates yet. He said the ship is stopping at Mayport but he does not know for how long. I hope so because the flight from Jacksonville to Ft Lauderdale is fast and cheap! I really do want to fly to SD when they arrive, so that will be my goal. Hopefully we'll meet there!!!
Marianne,
That's fantastic!!! Thank your son for keeping an eye out for him!!!
Chris told me that they might get some time off at Xmas for leave...I hope I can see him before they begin the trip. I know when they make it to SD, my husband and I will fly out for a visit!!! Wow, what an adventure!
Why don't you see who would be available the 22nd. If that doesn't work they do the 15th. Where we will be meeting and do you have a time in mind.
I go to church on Sunday and then deliver communion to a nursing home in the morning.
Marianne - I just found out that Tim is coming home on the 13th. He will only be home a week. If he happens to be out w/ his friends on the 15th I will pop over. If not I'm going to have to pass. I haven't seen my boy in 3 months and I can't give up any of our time together. I am looking forward to meeting you!
Hi Marianne, The get together sounds great. Unfortunately Im flying to Texas on the 15th so I won't be able to make it. I definitely understand that you don't want to get to close the holidays. Will you be at Homecoming?
Marianne..I am definitely in. I just don't know when Tim will be home. He is sitting in GL waiting for his plane reservation. The dates that you posted are good for me right now. Did you have a place in mind? Do you want me to call and try to get a room? Let me know.
Thanks for getting back to me. The 15th sounds good. Let me know when you hear from the others.
I would go to a meeting up North if you are going. I would love to meet other Navy Moms. .
Hi Marianne
It would be great if us Navy Moms could get together. This is Patrick 4th deployment and I still get confused with what is going on. On Patrick's first deployment I had no one to ask any questions.
Nov. 8 I am going to New York to visit my son. Any other weekend looks good.
Where do you want to meet. I hope its not too far. I have lived in SJ for 30 years (wow where did the time go) and I still get lost. I have no sense of direction Ha Ha.
