I'm so excited! John will be home on Sept 17th until Oct 3rd. Finally after 2 long years of not seeing him he's coming home! The bad news is I won't get to see him for 3 years after this visit because he's going to Guam. He will be on the north end on the HSC 25 aircraft carrier working on helicopters. I've googled it and it looks pretty neat. He will really enjoy his job there. He only has one year left but he is re-enlisting and I'm sad but if he loves his job then I can't stop him although I wish I could put myself in a care package and mail it to him. He laughed and said he'd send it back. The nerve! Mom wants to be with her baby okay!
Anyway, I hope everything is good for you. 2009 hasn't been for me. I lost my mom in Jan, grandma in March and my uncle in July. All to different kinds of cancer. What a blow!
My son coming has really got me cheered up and I just can't wait. I'm counting the days!
Good luck to you and all the Navy moms!

hello kirsten, I was looking at the pictures of Lee. Im really happy that I recieved a friend request form you. My husband and i are being stationed in groton around christmas and new years. He is going for SECF. maybe you can give me some advice as far as the city goes and housing. I would appreciate it greatly. I am from phoenix arizona. I have no idea what to expect in a small town.
Hi I'm Kimberly Foster and I live in Lawton too. My son joined 4 and a half years ago and he loves it. He is an Airman and is trying to get stationed at Tinker. I sure hope he gets those orders so I can finally see him. It's been a year and a half. Its good to meet people from lawton who have someone in the Navy. I hope to hear from you. Best wishes
Hey Chicky! LONGGGGG time no chatty...:( By the looks of this page things are going well for your Lee! :) Good to hear. How are you? What's news with you? We really must catch up soon...it's summer - woohooo and yippee yee ha! Hugs!
oh, the rate , i just found out from my hubby, is probably dc (damage control) which i hear is a very dangerous job. my hubby was an os (operatios specialist)
steven is going in to train to be a firefighter. he has always wanted to be a fireman since he was a tiny boy and now he will be able to do that. hey, are you up on the chat/ instant messages? if so, why don't i meet you over there now?
part 2! i will definately check out the websites you sent me and thank you for the time you spent to get them to me. i will be in touch with you alot, i'm sure. hope your weekend is good to you. after 3 days off and helping my daughter move, i go back to work tomorrow and need to get to sleep. i will chat with you agin very soon. and thanks again....cherri
hi again! thanks for the feedback. i'm sorry i gave the impression that i have a daughter going in the navy. it is actually my son going in and training to be a firefighter. i think i may have mentioned that i was helping my daughter move into her new apt. today, but it is my boy steven, that is going. hope i didn't confuse you. but i get the gist of your info whether it is boy or girl and yessssss! i will cherish those phone calls. i may not be able to afford a trip to the graduation, but my son told me that if he had earned enough money there, he would send me a ticket out. that made me cry!!! and i am somewhat familiar with "the box" situation, only on non military terms. unforttunately, my oldest son is in prison for a verrrry long time and all i have of him at home is " a box". that's what makes my other son leaving so much more difficult for me to deal with. i am going for a 10 hour round trip drive to see him in 2 weeks after 6 months of not seeing him. that, and working too, and my husband and i don't have the same days off and our other kids in sports makes it a very busy life. i have 2 others in college. it's hard to stay on top of all these things and deal with emotions too. my anniversary and 30 year class reunion are next saturday and 2 weeks from now we are having a banquet for the 2 basketball teams my husband and navy son coached. heeeeeeeeeeeeelp! i'm gonna go bonkers! my husband was also a navy man for 4 years and then went army for 4 years before i met him. he knows military life, i don't. look for part 2 !
hi kirstin. thank you for inviting me and i gladly accept! i am still in limbo as is my son steven, as he has yet to go to boot camp. he's slated to go in october, but could go sooner. only for the weathers' sake, do i hope it is sooner, but i really don't want to see my baby go! as a mom of 7, it is not easy to see even one of my kids even just across town. as a matter of fact, i just helped my daughter and her bo move into an apt. today. it's a whole differnt story to have them go clear across the country and/or another country altogehter. and all the horror stories i'm reading about not even being able to call and talk to him.that bites! but on the other hand, i am extremely proud of him and the career path as a firefighter he has chosen. let's keep in touch and maybe we can help each other. prayers to you and your navy son. cherri {melissamakes7 is my user name, our 7th child is melissa, therefore, melissamakes7!!!}
Hey Lady, very nice to hear from you. Glad to hear that Lee will be graduating soon. Josh is in Portsmouth, Va. He is on the SSBN Tennessee, they have just put the sub into dry dock and are working on it. He will be going out to sea on a different sub the end of July or the first of August. He was just promoted to 3rd class Petty Officer, not bad considering he has only been in for 10 months. He actually earned that while at sub school, as you know he graduated with a 95.32 from BESS and was the top student in his next three classes, but he had to be on the sub for 4 months prior to receiving it. It is so good for him, and he out ranks his twin brother now at least until September. Having always felt that he was under his brother it was a real boost to his self image. He worked really hard to stay on top of his game and is still doing so, He loves the Navy. We are very proud of both
our boys. My daughter really misses her brothers though and is going through a tough time of it. I haven't been on here much lately, but keep saying I am going to try to do better. It really was great to hear from you though. Please keep in touch and let me know where Lee ends up. I am so proud of all these kids....HIGS .....Kathie
Hi Kristen, ~ how are you my friend? It's been awhile since we last talked I pray all is well with you and the family. Things are good here with me the family is doing well and Kevin is now stationed in Norfolk (Damn Neck) which is about an hour away waiting to classup for 'C' school which should be in the next couple of weeks. He's been home just about every weekend and it has been a pleasure :o) to have my baby so close to home. It's good to hear Lee is doing well and just about to complete school then off to his first duty station August will be here before you know it. Hopefully he will be able to spend some time at home before reporting. I'm not going to keep you long the hour is late but I wanted to send a lil luv your way to let you know as always keeping you and the family in prayer so my friend until next time much luv and peace to you and yours.
