Hey Princess: Have a mom on the "Undes" page with a son who just arrived in Japan and isn't doing well.....lonely. Wondering if you could pop in and give her some peace of mind!
Haven't heard from you in a while, what's new? Cory will be arrving home next Friday, he has a weeks leave.....as you can imagine, I'm anxious to hug that kid!!!
Princess, I called American Airlines directly and spoke to a rep in order to get the good, non-published fare/trip. She gave us an itinerary we couldn't have booked online, so it was well worth calling. Go here: http://www.mwr.navy.mil/mwrprgms/itt_airlines.htm for numbers to call. All these airlines, in appreciation for military service, have special rates you have to call to take advantage of. Best of luck!!
Hi Princess,
Any word from you son yet? I read your messages on the Japan site. So glad to hear you are feeling better about the situation for Mike. Please keep me posted on how he does. The pictures were placed on my page in the comment wall area. . Just scroll down my comment wall until you come to the pictures. If they do not come up there - visit the MN Mothers' site. There you would have to scroll back several pages but the pictures will come up. my son is the one leaning back in a chair - holding his hat. And there is one of Alex with Ricky. It is the one with Ricky in a white t-shirt adn Alex is making a funny smiley face and signing " I Love You". Hope you can see these pictures. I so want you to meet my Alex :) Have a great weekend. TLynn
HiPrincess,
Please visit my page and view my comment area. Another MN Mom - who's son is on the same ship with mine -took pcutres. She posted a picture of my son!! Please vist my page. I so want you to see him. :) I still have not made my page as loving as yours., I am hoping things will quiet down here and my firend will come over to help me. But finally I have something to share. :) Hope your day is wonderful. My is after I saw that picture !!!!! talk later TLynn
You had a bad storm? No, we just received a thunderstorm and beautiful lightning. We did have plenty of rain, but we need it with all the new gras growing. I sent you a message, but I talked so much in it, that I had to finish up in a second one. I forgot to ask - what is your daughter's major? Talk a little later - laundry calling. TLynn
Hi Princess,
Haven't heard from you in a while. Hope everything is well. How is Mike? Ryan sounds very tired; I think it's the heat, but he's hanging in there, I guess. He's never been one to complain so I never really know.
Princess: Life has been CRAZY! Seems like you and I were going through some family stuff about the same time! My aunt in Mesa was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer about 6 weeks ago. She was in St. Joes and then transferred to the rehab facility where I work. I'm the ONLY family in the Phoenix area....so, you can imagine the rest. She will move to Tucson the 7th....I have several siblings there....so life should calm down a bit.
Cory if ready to test for gunners-mate. He left on May 25th for some kind of training excercise....he called at 3 AM that day and said "I just called to say I love you, mom. We're headed out now.". I , of course didn't know where "out" was and he couldn't tell me. We had no (zero) contact for the past 7 weeks....but he called yesterday and was back in Virginia. He had been in Africa!!! I made plane reservations last night and will be flying out to see him on the 23rd.
I can't believe Michael gets to go to Australia.....that's one place I've always wanted to see. My second son, Brett, went for his high school graduation trip and said it was amazing!!! Have him take lots of pictures. Just exactly what is "crank" duty?
So your daughter wil be off to school in Ohio soon. Pre Med, isn't it? You must be so awfully proud!
Looking forward to meeting you in person...we're still on for Last Chance, aren't we?
Got your message from yesterday....What a small world, that both our son's would be heading in the same direction....If they pull into port, I'm hoping that they'll connect with each other...Im sending Andrew an email to keep an eye out for your son...That is so great, what small world the both going to Austraia. Your welcome to pass on son Andrew Tovar, US Denver, your son Mike can email can email him there.
We enjoyed Chicago while are you to the Great Lakes Naval Base? Andrew spent a year there, he like it too.
I've never on line chat yet maybe it.
Talk to you soon,
Muriel

Hi Princess,
I loved the pictures Mike sent. When are you making the trip to Japan? Ryan sounds like he's having pretty good time. He called last week while they were laying around on the beach. They were all excited to get a day off. Hope you and the girls are doing well. Oh! I almost forgot to ask, how was graduation?
Hi Princess,
So glad to hear from you. My mother is doing better. NOW she has to excerxise. simple ones that will strengthen her hip muscles. And she is doing them willingly! As I shared in my last email - my mother is letting me help her with her meds and other details of her life. She was always so independent and now - I know she knows that I am only assistancing her. Not taking over. I still remind her that SHE can do somethings on her own, but I will be a back up. Heard form my son! He is back in Sasebo. He stated he was in the process of moving to another room - now with a roommate. But that is going to be ok - the new room mate has a BIG flat screen TV. And his Crank Duty is finally over. ( Ever wonder when our Crank Duty will be over?) The other news I have to share - finally - I found another Mom with a son on the same ship as mine .. WE have not had much talking as yet. Her son just arrived 3 weeks ago. But funny thing - when my Alex got back - to his old room - he had roommates to greet him. Turns out one of the new sailors - is the son of the Navy Mom I meet on line. Small world. Princess - have you met any other Moms from your son's shp? Anyway - things are doing better here. Hope all is wonderful for you too and that your garden is blooming. talk when you can. Have a great day - thanks for letting bend your ear. T-Lynn
Hi Princess,
Just had some time for myself - finally. Hope to hear some great gossip from you - your goings ons and any news from your son. Our son did call from the last port he was visiting and he made sure his phone card had plenty of minutes. His ship should be back to home port soon. Then he will have his first summer in Japan. As for me - extra crank duty for this month. My mother - had a small stroke. But her being 88 that did take some out of her. Luckily I was home with her and got her to the ER. She is home now - and she will have out patient physcial therapy and she is letting me help her with her meds - HURRAY ! The therapy will get her more active - which I could not get her to do. And I remind her - she made a promise to Alex - to be good. She gives me a look then and reminds me she is 88 and can do anyting she wants - even misbehave! Her humor is something :) You have a great weekend and I hope all your flowers are blooming now. take care freind
T-Lynn
Hi Princess,
How is Mike? Is he loving Japan? Ryan e mails a couple of times a day and twice, we've been on line at the same so we were sort of instant messaging for a good while. He's going sight seeing tomorrow and is really excited about getting off the ship and seeing what this world has to offer. How are your daughters graduation plans? I know that she must be so excited. I'll talk to you soon. Take Care, Theresa
Princess: Would you mind checking in on the "undes" site. We have a couple of new members...and I seem to be the only "oldie" checking in regularly....pretty soon they're gonna think I just made up the rest of the members so I wouldn't be lonely! Plus you owe us an update on Michael!!!!
Hi Princess,
Just shairng before I have to bake my cake. Heard from my son - he is doing just fine, but he does have a cold. He is enjoying his tour even with crank duty. And when I last talked with you - I had washed my windows and even washed both cars. Well, it is now raining for the next four days! My mom said it's all my fault, because I wanted cleaned windows. Sorry if I made it rain in your area too. But I just couldn't stand to see through those spotted windows any longer. News from the south - dealing with the insurance people. But otherwise - they are strong. Need to go - that cake is waiting and my Mom is the official test tester of all I bake. In otherwords - she is waiting for that cake. Have a wonderful day T-Lynn
Good Evening Princess :),
Yes - isn't this weather wonderful.. I love haing the windows open and smelling the sweet blooms. But in the evening we have to put on the AC - older son has allergies and we were told to close up at night, so the air will be filtered. So far - the news from the south has been good. So slowly they are getting back on their feet. I will ask my son to teach to post pictures and show a couple of the shawls that my husband and I have done. The most made in a 6 month period wsa 21 with matching carrying bags. The shawls/bags were part of "Give Away Gifts' of the bride and groom. It is tradition for the bride and groom to give gifts to those assisting in a wedding. And the only reason the shawls have the bags, I was tired of seeing the shawls at Pow Wows falling off the backs of chairs and then they seem to walk off on their own. About putting them on ebay - ? The shawls we have made have been for traditional gifting. But maybe someday. Here is that address for the 7th Fleet News letter: www.c7f.navy.mil On the home page you will find several differeent topics to explore too. But the most up to date news letters are posted. Just click on. My husband found the title of USS Minesweeper ... and click it and then reading realized it was talking about our son's ship. Hope you are lucky too. Have a great Memorial weekend. T-Lynn
Hi Princess,
When is the prom? You'll have to post some pictures so we can all see how beautiful she is. I didn't realize that Mike would be deploying (if only for a week) this soon. I thought just moving to the other side of the world was big enough. Will he be able to talk to you? Let me know when he gets back so that we know he's safe. I can't ever figure out the chat thing. We'll need to work on it though. Talk to you soon, Theresa
