Thanks Marybeth. We had a great T'day & looking forward to a great Christmas too! Thanks for the ride offer also. I am going to pick him up & then he gets to take his truck back with him, but I appreciate the offer. The navy really does come with extended "family" lol, & that is a great thing. I don't know what I would have done without N4M's & all of the wonderful people on here! Justin is still really homesick but we are all counting down the days until the 18th! I hope ya'll have a great Christmas & safe driving!
Hi MaryBeth,
I think our Sailor is in the same class. He had the A school Graduation already,Now he is onto the second phase. I will encourage him with this. information thank you
Hi MaryBeth, I see you are contact for the St. Augustine Meet n Greet, I will miss it by one week. If you could keep me posted on future events it would be great. Our son lives in JAX and we will be snow birds out of Cresent City so would love to attend one of these and get to know all of you.
And tell Tina, I nearly blew the screen off the laptop with your Submarines.
Have a great time and hope sometime to join you all,
Kelly
Marybeth, thank you for your kind words. It was actually my Grandmother that passed away. My Grandfather is still in ICU at Shands. They were in a horrible car wreck yesterday and my Grandmother was killed. It has been such a shock to me and my family. She was llike a Mother to me. I will miss not being there Saturday, but know you understand. Give my regards and thanks again.
Marybeth, I was looking for a couple jokes to include in my letter to Gage and found one you might like:
SUBMARINES ARE SAFER THAN AIRCRAFT .....
THE PROOF IN THIS FACT IS THAT THERE ARE MORE AIRCRAFT IN THE WATER THAN SUBMARINES IN THE SKY.
1 year school definately a bonus!!! looks like Gage will have eithe 103 calendar days or 61 depending on AT or AE rates (via internet). Before I put little ones to bed....mind if I ask how many years James signed for? Gage only signed for 4 active 2 reserved but that was a precauntionary move.
AV rate which can be either AT or AE. Basically it is avionics electrician rate. Working on airplane electronics in lamen terms.....just like daddy but in an accidental way. Bryan had nothing to do with his interest, but the ASVAB linked his score with that rate and nuclear. Gage doesn't like confining spaces so that ruled out nuclear (subs)...lol
WOW, Gage too was JROTC and DEP. My husband retired Navy so Gage was more aquainted with the Navy than most young men....but wow, I feel so comforted by the similarities.....I too look forward to meeting you marybeth!!
Marybeth,
This is the first time I enlarged the photo of your son and my jaw hit my chest....My Gage is of the same build, same eyebrows, eyes, nose and adams apple....They look very familiar!! Also, I would like to confirm my intentions of being at the next luncheon and would love to bring Gage's girlfriend.
He texted that he would need a last name so I added you as a friend. If you feel comfortable messaging me privately I can give him the info. He said there are 3 EM classes of 35 from last week each so he is not sure. You know the military, he only knows last names. LOL Once I can send you a message I will tell you our last name. He is just thrilled he has his own room now.
Hi Marybeth - thanks for writing to me. My son went to college in Tampa, then to P-Cola, then to Milton, FL, and now Corpus Christi - he is SICK of hot weather, so the "cool" winters you describe will feel like heaven to him! He's a New England boy through and through.. always trys to come home in the fall for foliage. When in college, he would ask me to send him leaves! Hope we can stay in touch.
Joey

Hi, MaryBeth! I put up the pictures I took at graduation. It's been crazy, but at least I've gotten to see my son a few times. He's got a lot of ground to cover while he's home. Not looking fwd to the drive to the airport...
Look through - you'll see pics of your James, too. Love to all. Dawnrose
I don't know when I will get to Florida for a visit... all this running back and forth to CT for grandbaby stuff... sure doesn't leave me alot of down time. We will keep in touch
