Karen, thank you for welcoming me aboard. My son is now in his 4th week of boot camp. I am finding it hard not hearing from him. All of us are writing because we know how important it is for him to know we support him. He will be going into the SEALS program from boot camp. Each day it gets a little easier, but as a mom I constantly worry about him. This is a great opportunity for him. He is excited to serve our Country. As a mom all I do is pray and worry about him. When he left he had a very bad respitory infection and a fever of 102. I do not know if he is feeling better or anything. That is the hard part.

Thank you Karen for welcoming into the group. I'm so excited for my daughter (19) that she has chosen a career with the US Navy. I have another daughter (20) who is in the US Marines [her husband is in the US Air Force in California) and is stationed in California and another daughter whose husband is in the US Marines, also in California. I would have never imagined any of my children entering the military. All this new found information just blows my mind.

Thank you so much for your awesome welcome! My situation may be a bit different, but it still hurts when my son is deployed and I cannot talk to him. My son is Pilot in the navy and has a wife and two children, but I had him at a young age and we have always had an awesome bond. When we talk, we talk about everything and I love it, but when he is deployed the little time he has, ofcourse, he talks with his wife. Again, thank you for your response, it was very nice!

Thank you for welcoming me aboard. I have no clue about the Navy yet. My daughter is 19, in college for another year. She wants to go in the delayed entry program and will go to boot camp right after college next June. She is a little upset right now because she took the ASVAB test and failed by two points but they are going to let her try again. I have an 21 year old son who is in the Marines. I love both of them and am very proud.

Thank you for the welcome. I come from a Navy back ground. My husband is 20 year retire Navy Nuke. We were together for his entire Navy time. I joined this area because it was recommended by a friend. Today we spent all day between the MEPS and the airport seeing our niece off to begin Navy Boot Camp. We are very proud of her choice and will continue to suport her..
Again Thank you for the welcome. :o)

Thanks Karen. So good to hear from all who have responded to my joining Navy4Moms. John will be home in Sept. for the first time since getting orders for Guam last May. We're very proud of our RP3!

Thank you for your welcoming comments. I will post pics as soon as my son's girlfriend gets back from vacation. I am very new to all of this kind of thing. I am still very much in the learning stages. I'm typically not on my computer very much. My son has a SEAL contract. It has always been his dream. He has studied up of all of this for years, and I would never hold him back from pursuing his goals, however, I am still a Mom and worry at times.

This is so very true. When my son Billy left I could barely function. It was so hard. My son and I are Best Friends and it was the not knowing what he was doing or how he was doing that drove me crazy. The first letter I was elated. He was doing so well, but at the time just hating the cold..He was raised in Florida so to him it was freezing. But when I saw him graduate Boot Camp. OMG what a feeling. You new recruite Parents, Wives, Grandmothers...If you can make sure you go to Graduation its a once in a Lifetime thing...and its the best...Many Blessings...

Hi and thanks for the welcome. I would like to say to all Moms and Dads that the day your son/daughter leaves for boot camp is so emotional that you will have to draw from your inner strength to get through until you get that first call but have no fear, it will all be great, and sooooo good for the kids. And make sure you get out to the graduation, it is amazing!!!

Thanks for your support, Karen! This has been a tumultuous year for me- my husband and I divorced and I've been on my own for a year and a half now. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this support group at this time! My daughter has grown and matured so much- she is ready to fly and I fully support her. God bless to you and your family.

Thanks for the warm welcome Karen! Matt (18) left 7/2 for BC and just received his box today. Not easy to open it up without tears thinking back to last Thursday and that was the last thing I saw him in (also the picture I have posted is the same day he left). He is my only child and it was very hard to see him leave, but I am extremely proud of him. He will be training as an IS after bootcamp and hoping to make a trip to see him there. I was hesitant about joining this website, but after reading all the forums and comments I am so glad I did! The warm welcomes and support I feel is tremendous and reminded me that I am not going thru this alone. Thanks again Karen - Janice (Matt's mom).
