That is so true but I will still be here and expect to hear how Chad is doing and what adventures he is getting into. I know that sence the kids are here Chris wants to spend more time with them, as they grow so fast and before you know it they are going off on their own. You and I both know how that was when our own little darling flew the coop, so to speak.

Genia, Chris and Liz's place is up for Sale and they are starting to pack things up. Don't know for sure when he will get Shore Duty but think it will be around Christmas. They will be moving to New York, or at least I think so. I can't wait as that will make him about 4 hr closer and I will be able to spend more time with the kids. Will hate to see him leave the boat as I think I have made some good friends. I will still write to see how Chad and all the rest of the guys are doing. Write when you can, Norene

Sorry to hear about Mom, how old was she? When my Dad died, he wanted to be buried at sea so Chris got permission to have the services from the Sub. They sent a very nice CD of the Service and a map showing where it was held. I was going to go down for Thanksgiving but the kids don't know what will be happening at that time. Don't know if they will be out to sea or if Liz will be coming up here (if Chris out to sea). Won't give me an answer! I think something is up and they won't tell me. Chris commented that he was getting some boxes to pack things up. Makes me go HUM. They might be house hunting and don't want me to know. That is what they did when they bought their house in GA. I think that is why they won't give me an answer on me coming down. Well have to go and get ready for work ( what a dirty word) talk at you later Norene

Thank you so much for your kind words. Having a great time with Justin. You're right. He is bored. He is working 5 days with his recruiter and will head to Kings Bay a few days early. He is driving back so he will have a vehicle. He has changed so much and has a wonderful outlook on life now. I love him so much and we are so proud of him.

Genia so how was your trip? And how was Chad? Chris said they have been doing some very long hours. I think he said he was putting in around 100 hr a week, to many hours!! Ask Chris about who bought Eli and Cammie's place and he said it wasn't Chad. Yes it is very hot down there right now, I think that is why Chris wants to get Shore Duty in a cooler place ( ha ha). He won't know till Oct. Take Care

The job I have is so grueling. When I go home at night I hurt so bad I can't hardly walk or stand up after I set down for awhile. We have to stand on Cement Floors for 12 hours at a time with no mates to stand on, and only have 15 to 20 minutes breaks ( 3 times a day). Very hot, up to 120 degrees and very fast pace. I just can't do it any more. It is starting to take a toll on my body. I think Chris told me that Chad had bought Eli and Cammie's place! If he did than I know where Chad lives. I think Chris and Liz will be putting their place up for sale soon if Chris gets his Shore Duty where he want. Good Luck and have a SAFE TRIP down there and enjoy that Son of yours. Norene

That is Great. I had planned on going down for the 4th of July but had to put brakes on the car so there went my plans on going down. Plus the shop is starting to slow down and have sent people home, and I am only averaging two to three days a week. Not for a good pay check. Trying to find a better job. Have one lined up but have to wait till they open up the new building. Can't wait to get out of my job now as it is starting to take a toll on my body. If you get a chance see if Chad will introduce you to Chris and Liz, you will like them.

Genia, I did it, I finelly figured out how to put a picture on my site of my Son. We had a meeting yesterday of Navy for Moms and they showed us dumbies how to put pictures on our page. My Son is the one on the left. This was taken when he was doing his schooling for Nukes down at Goose Creek. That is his wife beside him.

Yes I agree having them alot closer makes me happy. I ask Chris if he knew Chad and he said yes. Said Chad was a nice guy. What are some of the guys going to Washington for. Chris put in for schooling up in Norfolk, wanted to do the dive school but they wouldn't let him off in Feb to fly back, but offered it to him when he got back in the States. He had to turn it down because the training would be at the same time the baby would be born. He said he wouldn't miss the birth of his little girl. He was there when Allan was born and he wants to be there when Alex is born. What do you think of the Group,(USSFlorida), do you think we will get more Mothers to sigh in. I think this will be a great way to keep in contact with everyone and to know how our guys are doing. Did you check out the KingsBayPeriscope. They really had a nice artical about the Florida and her crew(Blue Crew) Well have to go the dog is setting here with his knees crossed and looking miserble, I think he has to go outside Norene

Just like the artical that was put in the KingsBay Periscope. Hope we can get more Moms to join and to know them better Norene

Chris wil be in tomorrow. They stopped somewhere around Beckley WV for the night. Will be in sometime tomorrow and like Chad has alot of catching up to do with family and friends. With her family, my family. and his dad's family. Does Chad know Chris? When I ask Chris if he knowes any of these guys all he says is I only know their last name. I am sure Chad knows Chris but only by his last name. And those suprises are alot of fun to do. We did that to my parents when my two brothers came home on leave. They are twins and was on the same ship, so they where able to get leave at the same time. I ran up to Cleveland and picked them up. My Dad was bowling and when they came walking in it was quite a suprise. My Mom came up later to watch my Dad bowl and when she walking in to her suprise there they stood. Everyone at the bowling alley stopped bowling to watch the reaction on my Mother's face. Was quite a night. The one twin had not been home for over a year. Well so much for that little store. Glad Chad is home and have lots of fun with him home, I know I plan on having fun just seeing my son. Take care and give Chad a big hug for me and tell him I am proud of all our guys especial those on the Flordia

Genia have you heard from Chad yet. Chris and family are suppost to be up here Tuesday and I can't wait to see them. I have to work that day so I will have to wait till I get off work. If you can would you skype me some time, then I can put a face with a person. I'm under my name, Had to redo the WebCam and it seem to be doing better. Did have a hard time talking to the kids today because they where having bad weather down there. Liz said I was coming in clear but she wasn't for me. Later

Genia just got a phone call from Chris. They are back at base and have alot of work to do but will be home soon. Can't wait. Like Tracey Chris's wife gets all the e-mails and she passes them on to me. This is kind of neat to be able to chat with other Moms from the Florida Crew. I now know three other Moms from the crew. I plan on letting them all know the guys are back at base. What projects are you talking about. Joe's mom mentioned something about sending notes to all the guys from the Florida when they did a drop from the Gold Crew. I didn't know we could get involved in anything? Hope to hear from you soon

Hi Genia! It is hard on me when I don't hear from Brandon for awhile. The only time I have heard from him this run is a breif note for Christmas. Of course being newly married, his few emails go to his bride, which is understandable.
My daughter-in-law is involved in the wife community that works on the projects you had mentioned. She hasn't really shared much with me about this, and I had no idea that I could be involved. I'll be sure to ask about this project.
We are also planning a trip to Kings Bay about a week after they come home. We'll be spending about two weeks there tiling and painting Brandon and Amber's home.
As far as tricks for dealing with your son being away, I really don't have any tricks to dealing with the lack of communication. My daughter-in-law gives me little tidbits here and there, but I know she misses him just as much if not more than I do. I pray for these boys every night for God to keep a watchful eye over them and to keep them safe, and I know that Jesus is at the wheel.
Is this your son's second voyage? Has he been stationed elsewhere since joining the Navy? Brandon is also an MT, so I'm sure our boys have worked closely together.
I look forward to talking to you again. We will keep you and your family in our prayers.

God has brought us together for a reason,
Tracey

Hi Gina! I have a one and only stationed on on the USS Florida Blue Crew. I, like you miss him and wish there would be more contact. My son just got married in April, went out came back and is now out again. Hopefully our son's will be home soon.
God Bless,
Tracey

Thank you for the info, Genia! I noticed that the information form describing the MT schooling with his contract was printed in '06. I sure hope he doesn't have to go to Seattle for C school (although it's a lovely city!) Algebra was not his best class, gulp! Maybe he'll "grow" into it. I was sort of looking forward to having him a bit closer to east Tennessee in Kings Bay. Like much else Navy-related, we'll just have to wait and see. I may be back in touch - thanks again.
