Our son just finished GM A school and is leaving tomorrow for his first duty station on the USS Hopper in Pearl Harbor. Well, I just received my California nurses license a few weeks ago. Now the problem is that we can't someone to buy our house here in Chicago! One day, I'll make it there. We just need to wait for the right time!
Thanks for the offer.

So how do the unions work and is it good for the nurses or not so good? when you're hired, does the hospital tell you that they are union or does the union call you after you're hired? Just curious.

Hi my name is Mary Beth (MB). I saw that your husband and my son started A school at the same time. I told Sean that there were some people on this site that had someone just starting. He said that James is one of his roommates. I'm glad he knows someone in his class. So far it sounds like it is going ok. I know he didn't like the mandatory study time either. It sounds like they don't have to do that any more. Your boys are cute. I have 4 boys (of course they are all over 6 ft). Sean has an older brother who just turned 22 this month. He just graduated from college. He's living at home trying to find a job. Then he has 2 younger brothers, one that will be a senior in high school next year and one that will be a sophmore in high school. Sean is 19. He left last summer in Aug for boot camp. He started out in pre-buds (Seals) after bootcamp, but missed a push up on a test so then had to choose a different job. He has been on hold a long time, so am glad that he is in A school. Well just wanted to say hello. Its nice to touch base with someone he knows there.

Beth, thank you so much for the offer of your car. It is extremely generous of you!! We won't be coming until August 19. We will consider the offer, but the logistics might be difficult, we don't get into San Diego until 11 PM. Do you know anything about the Hotel Del Coronado. We don't want to stay there. I heard you can tour it. I checked on Baloa Park, you had mentioned that before, and I think we will make a stop there a day or two. Thanks so much for all you information

Beth, have your husband find my son. He's a GM2 instructor on the simulation range, not the live range. He's 26 and has two little girls (divorced), but he's older than 18 and been on two deployments, so maybe your DH would enjoy talking to him. They are allowed to meet in public, I believe, like the NEX or the mall. He met Susie's Gabe at the mall a couple weeks ago. I'll send his cell number if you're interested.

Hi Beth! I hope you are using calenders with the boys. It always helped my kids when daddy went away. My son is also staying at GL for GM school. He said after talking to the GMs that did their firearms training that he was more stoked then ever to get done with school and on to his job! Look forward to seeing on Friday at Flanagans!

I totally understand - my kids have all reacted differently to Daddy being gone. Our daughter writes a ton of letters to him, I only mail one or two a week because I know he is limited on space. I have to threaten to take away Legos to get our oldest son to write to him. My husband turned 25 a few weeks ago at boot camp & said he's one of the oldest guys there. He left behind a great job, but they have to hold it open for him because he's just in the Reserves. Why did your husband decide to join?

What div is your husband in? Mine is in 077. We have kids as well - sometimes it's so hard with him being gone. I feeling like he's missing out on so much - birthdays, Christmas, watching our youngest (he's almost 2) grow. The kids are all changing so much. This website has really helped. Talk to you soon!

Welcome to Navy 4 Moms, this is an exciting website and very informative... We would like to invite you to the Blue Candle Lighting event that occurs in your home anytime you wish to light a candle for your recruit sailor or the military in general. This is done to honor their service during the holidays, birthdays, special events or if you just want to. The Home for the Holidays/Blue Candle Moms also ask you join us in this group. This event and group has no special connections to "any one group" We are all Navy Moms, Wives, and we became Blue Candle Moms.... this included everyone on this website. Please come join us and share your stories and your lightings and your holidays with your child...this was done because some moms were not having their sailors home, and we are support group that can share feelings and fears. Annouce your child is coming home or the despair of knowing on certain holidays it is your sailor we light the candles for. To honor them for the service in the past present and future. To honor those that gave the Ultimate Sacrifice for our freedom. We celebrate the freedom to be Blue Candle Moms and the freedom to light our candles anytime we choose. Please think about our group and the Event and when responding tell where you lit your candle, and the reasons for your paticular lighting. the event will continue and once you rsvp come in anytime and update your lightings
