Have you received the form letter? (I didn't know anyone with a June PIR date had gotten the form letter.) The Grad Pack that comes with the Form Letter will have some suggestions with contact information.

The Navy Lodge is located 1.9 miles off base from RTC and guests of graduation are allowed to stay there.  https://reservations.staydod.com/hotelSearch.do?action=View&pro... or 847-689-1485.

The Navy Gateway Inns & Suites is located on the main base, about 1.5 miles from RTC. Your SR would be your sponsor for you to stay there.  http://dodlodging.net or 1-877-NavyBed (1-877-628-9233). It is best to have your own car or a rental if you stay here. Since it is on base, there are some restrictions.

The discussion, Recommended Places to Stay, within PIR Reference Information may give you some ideas.

My family and I stayed at Ramada Inn. Its very close to base and it was great. Some of the reviews were good and not so food, so we were a little leery. It was very clean, the cleaned our room every day. The staff was awesome. There were a lot of Navy families there and new sailors in and out all weekend. The breakfast was great. I would recommend it. we got a Navy discount rate also and got 2 rooms. The town of Waukegan is a bit old looking, but only a couple miles from our hotel was Gurnee. Very nice. That's where we spent a lot of time. Then you must see Chicago. Navy Pier.... Amazing!

We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Waukegan and it was spotless and had a great breakfast.  They give a navy discount if you tell them you are here for graduation.

I think I'll try the Holiday Inn, next!  thx Jo1 :)
