Hi. New also so I don't have any info. Do you know what job title your husband has? Where henos gong after bootcamp? My hubby was given dental assistant and is suppose to go to A school in Texas.
My husband is going for an action machanic! He is going to Pensacola after boot camp! I got a call from him today and 5 letters!
Hi Autumn, i'm fairly new as well, but my husband already finished boot camp and is now in Pensacola for school. What i found very helpful is to search the area ahead of time. As soon as you get the information when he is graduation, book your hotel and flights so you get a good price. Most of the hotel you can cancel the day before and no penalty will be charged. I also found expedia very helpful because they have option to reserve it and not pay for it until you actually check in. But you still have to make sure,if you are not going, to cancel at least 24-48 hrs before. Another tip would be to book your rental car through costco travels if you have a costco membership. For airfare, you might need to foot the bill ahead, but like what i've said if you book ahead of time you will get better deals. Also i found out from southwest, if you call and let them know that you are military dependent you might get a discount. Not all the time though. Last tip, register to ebates.com before you book anything through expedia. And you can get a rebate from whatever you are paying in expedia. Let me know, send me a direct message if you have questions.

Hi Autumn, welcome! My husband and I just hit the one year mark in the Navy. I would recommend learning as much about the Navy as you can since your husband will come home speaking a new language haha. Look for wives groups on Facebook wherever you'll be stationed when you find out. I would also recommend for all the new wives here to familiarize yourself with OPSEC because no matter your husband's role in the Navy, loose lips sink ships. I am terrible about this sometimes, especially now that I am so used to dealing with mostly military spouses, but it's important to be aware. I have gotten a couple weird friend requests over the past year, and nonmilitary do find their way into the Facebook groups sometimes and ask vague questions to get you to correct or inform them.

Don't be afraid if your husband seems different when he comes back from bootcamp. It takes them a little bit to adjust back to the civilian parts of their lives, and he may struggle to find the balance between military and civilian lifestyles. My husband was different, but after an adjustment period, he was back to normal, although clearly more mature and responsible. He truly came out a better man.
I got a call and 5 letters today! And thank you for the advice I really appreciate it!
I got a call today. I'm so happy. And I did receive a letter on Saturday. However he said he had fot back the letter pertaining to graduation because he left off the apartment number. He did say he is expected to graduate April 7 but I shouldn't buy the ticket just yet because he can't swim and he has dental work to be done so he hasn't gotten a chance to practice swimming. And he's an awful swimmer. Guys I'm scared, he can't even float but he says everyone is sick so is he.he hasn't receive any letter and I sent him one every day since Saturday. He said he was very sad because everyone else got letter. I just miss him

Hi Autumn,

I am in the same boat as you! My fiance graduates boot camp April 07 as well and it going straight to Pensacola for training. Where is your husband going after boot camp?

Wishing you all the best!
