He was supposed to leave Sept. 5 but got moved up 3 months!! Need to wrap my mind around the new date. Looking forward to the support on this site. Looks like everyone experiences the same things.

My Sailor leaves on the 13th of June, but I definitely experienced the same. His original ship date was in 2016. Then he requested an extension to try to get a contract he wanted and his ship date changed. Once he received his new contract, they changed his ship date again. So THREE ship dates later has lead us to JUNE 13th! hahaha. He's itching to leave already and I've kept trying to adjust myself. I just have to remind myself that "there's no planning when in the military"

My husband will be leaving June 13 as well. It's giving me a lot of anxiety as I'm worrying about getting our affairs together here at home as we prepare to move with him. It's a lot to handle for sure!

Yes! I know I'm definitely feeling anxiety as well. Especially since it's May now. I've never felt so excited and sad at the same time. This site is comforting, and it's nice to find someone else who's husband's ship date is the same. Hang in there!

My son is leaving June 28!!! I'm trying to prepare myself.

cfosceola, I left info on your My Page that will help you prepare.

My son is also leaving June 28, provided he gets medical clearance for the stress fracture in his foot. We can commiserate together.

well as of now he´s still scheduled to leave Sept. 5, which was the date he was given at enlistment. The June 25 date fell through...not sure what happened there. But we´re learning to live with these pesky military frustrations. lol! He´s really wanting to leave before Sept. so we´re really hoping for sometime this summer. But I would love to commiserate! If my son leaves this summer, our boys will likely be there together. What is your son´s rate?

beachplease, I'm sure you mean rating (job/occupational specialty) rather than rate (pay grade). After the Sailor completes "A" School, rate and rating go together to make the rate badge and then many simply refer to that as the rate, MASR, MASA, MASN and so on for your then Sailor, for example.

yup that is what I meant. And yes I understand how that all works, but thanks :)

:o)

We had to get medical clearance from arm fracture 9 years ago.  It was a headache!! Did everything go well?  I got my "kid in a box"  today.  PIR is Aug 25.

My son had been mulling around the different branches. One day, he came in and said I'm going to MEPS next week. MEPS was yesterday and now he's sworn in with a ship date of 6/27, though he said it's a day earlier (??). He meets with his recruiter on Monday to go over more details. This is going to be unfortunately fast three months.
