My son left the 27th and I haven't received my letter yet either.  I try to stay busy.  I love playing games on iPad and I binge watch Family Feud episodes.  Makes me laugh and takes my mind off the fact that I can't reach out and talk to my only child.  You could join a gym.  Planet Fitness is really cheap and would give you a chance to interact with other people and benefit your health.  Read a good book.  Or, if you are involved in a church, join some women's groups.  It will take your time and again, provide company.  AND . . .you can always come here!

I feel your pain, my son is an only child too.  Can't wait to get his first letter next week.  Its been 17 days since I heard his voice,...for 32 seconds to be exact.

Have you recieved anything yet? I keep seeing that people are getting letters and calls but all me and his parents got so far was the generic letter saying what ship he is on that the base send

Kiki92- My son left June 29.  He was able to send his first letter Sunday.  I got it yesterday. They have to wait till 3rd sunday to send a letter.  I think it also depends on if the 'Mail guy' for the division is doing well with his training.  But in his letter, he tells me Ship 12 , div 265 will be calling home tomorrow morning, If your SR is in that group, have the phone near you tomorrow.

Thank you so much. Yes he is in that div so that made my day. I will be staring at my ohone tomorrow lol but thank you for that. I aent out my letters yesterday so i hope he gets them.
Lastly i know im asking a lot..but how did your sailor say he was holding up? I know they are different people but did he want more letters?and Did he say it was hard? Im so curious lol

Kiki92, I got 2 letters.  The first letter made me cry because it was written at the end of the first week and he was talking about how hard it was, how much he missed home . . . . Then the second letter was written last week and he sounded great, so grown up!  He said he has been made section leader, could sense his team gaining momentum and coming together.  I've never heard him talk like that!  Still would like a phone call but for right this minute, the letters will do.

Im not sure why none of us have gotten anything but i am being patient. I sent my letters out 2 days ago when i got the generic letter saying which ship he was on ao hopefully things start rolling in. I was reading that they only get 3 tickets to graduation. I hope not because its 4 of us..and i would rather his parents and little sister get them before me. But since we lived together i want to be there also. :(
Hey just wondering did you get a call or another letter this weekend?
