MySONJuanito you should be hearing from him soon, a couple days after you receive the box you will receive the form letter with his address ship# and Div. # and the date he is suppose to Graduate. around the 3rd week or so you should at least get one phone call stating he is ok and working hard to pass all that needs to be passed. I know you miss him, we all have endured the emotions that come all with him being away. join boot camp for moms you will meet a lot of women that are going thru the same thing you are it helps to know you are not alone. Welcome.

Thanks for your prompt response! I appreciate it...

You are welcome, if you need anyone to speak to or have any questions feel free to message me. I will try to do my best to help you. Keep your head up, he will be ok. He is in good hands. there is a saying no news is good news its easier said than done I know, my son was there he just recently graduated Sept. 1st. He is school in Great Lakes, I miss him dearly but I can talk to him more often. Join The groups you will find so much info. join boot camps for moms, once you get the letter and find out what ship or pir there are groups for that also.

Hi MYSONJUANITO wanted to know how you are holding up? haven't seen you on the boot camp for moms, is everything ok? have you received the Box and the form Letter stating his PIR? if you have any questions please reach out, any concerns or questions. I hope you are keeping your head up, everything will be fine.

Can someone tell me when is his PIR I haven't received a letter from him as for yet....

When did he go in? if you can let me know that then we can determine what his PIR will be. Have you received the box yet? soon after the box is received you should receive th

When will "The Box" come?

It will usually arrive by FedEx within a few days, but it can take up to 2 weeks at times.

When will the Form Letter come and what is in it?

The Form Letter will arrive in your regular mail a week or so after "The Box" arrives--10 days after arrival is the average, but it can come sooner or 2 to 3 weeks after arrival. (You can find a copy of the current form letter in the Page, The Form Letter. The brochure that is included from MWRGL about hotels and other things is at RTC Friends and Family Brochure July 2017 rev.pdf.) The form letter includes your recruit's address, so now you can mail out all the letters you have been writing. There is more on this in Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit.

The Form Letter will also tell you the date of PIR, so you can start making plans for your trip. There are many hotels in the area and there is information in the grad pack and on this site about them. If you fly in, renting a car will make your life easier. Also, if you are flying, some airlines, such as Southwest, will allow you to change your flight if something happens without a charge, so you do not have to book refundable tickets. Plan to arrive the day before PIR so you won't risk missing this very special event and go to Sarge's Meet and Greet from 5 pm to 10 pm at the Lakehurst Event Center (go to http://www.mynavytaxi.com/events.html to RSVP) and maybe part of another Meet and Greet (Flanagan's has one). You must pick up your tickets for PIR at the Recruit Family Welcome Center either Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday before 8am. (For PIR dates that are on a day other than Friday, the Recruit Family Welcome Center will be open two days prior to PIR and the morning of PIR.) Picking them up the day before PIR would be ideal. Guests must pick up their own ticket using the ID that was indicated in the Security Access Form that was included with The Form Letter and returned to the recruit.

If your Recruit just arrived chances are the group for your PIR has not been formed yet. You should join the Boot Camp Moms group & the subgroup for the month of your recruit's departure. Again, we have another group of mentors who will take you through the preparation phase. You'll get a check list of things to do the month before boot camp. You'll learn Navy acronyms and terminology. You'll find out what will take place at MEPS. Lemonelephant will be there to guide you through and point you in the right direction

More than likely you will be able to be with him after PIR, and for Thanksgiving. Is your son staying in Great Lakes for School or flying out to another? do You happen to know what he is going for Like what he will be? I can try to find info on that for you if You happen to know?

Thank you so much...

You are welcome, anytime you need to talk I am here! Have a good day!
