Anna, what a POS! No other words for him, he obviously doesn't deserve any!!!
I am so sorry this happened to Jenn, with all she has been through these past years! Thank God she is strong and we all know she will be fine but .... I just have no words:(. And yes, it does change your plans also, very definitely so I'm figuring all will be positive, sounds like this is where you need to be for your own health.
Please give Jenn hugs from all of us!

Anna my heart breaks along with you and Jen. Navy life, deployments, and marriage is a hard life and takes strong individuals to sustain it. You and your hubby are proof of that strength. May God be with you as you council and love Jen with the roller coaster emotions that she will go through. Divorce is the same as a death and all those emotions will occur. I will continue to pray.

Anna, I'm so sorry that Jenn is going through this.  Our thoughts and prayers are with her and with you.  Stay strong momma, she's going to really need you.  Remind me, is he in the military also?  And don't worry, Bar Harbor will be there waiting for you...

Anna for you and your daughter

Raequel, we stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn Waukegan/Guernee for a couple of reasons - we cooked our own meals rather than go out and we had a 2 bdrm so other family who attended could stay with us. The accommodations were nice and we used their shuttle rather than drive our own car to PIR. We had a good experience.

Anna! My heart is breaking for you and Jenn! Please know I'm sending you, your husband and Jenn love, support, and prayers as you deal with such a devastating blow. Who can know why things like this happen to wonderful people and families who give life their all. It's baffling. Please know we're here and we love you. I'm so sorry Anna!

Anna thanks for the hotel pointer.

I’m so sorry to hear about your daughter and her husband. I will keep her in prayer. And you as well. Such a tough place for her to be in.

Anna, what a huge trauma for your entire family. Even knowing that your daughter will be better off, in the long run, without a fully committed partner, doesn’t help at all at this point. Bottom line is that young man often really, really don’t know their own minds. I’m traveling right now, but wanted you to know how helpful and supportive I have found you to be in the past to us newer moms. Will write more when we are back home next week. Take care of yourself!

Ladies my heart is broken into a million pieces and I just have to get this off my chest.  Many of you know my officer daughter Jenn and all she has been through since getting through OCS, her flight training in FL, the Survival training in Maine in the middle of the winter, and her health battles with thyroid disease and her working her butt off to catch back up to her peers after being sidelined for almost 2 years.  Things are really starting to look up for her - one more year of these deployments and she can transfer to the training squadron as an instructor.  No more deployments.  So how in HELL could her husband of almost 3 years wait until two weeks before Christmas to drop a bomb that he doesn't want to be married to her anymore and is moving out on Thursday?!?!?!?!  He has been thinking of this since September but never said a word one to her until last week, and since she was still deployed, didn't bother to tell her that his mind was already made up as to what he was going to do.  She kept saying that as soon as she got home they would do whatever they needed to fix their relationship and work things out.  She was so upset that the squadron sent her and the whole crew home 4 days earlier because she couldn't focus on her job while flying.  Then he says Oh he already made up his mind, he just doesn't want to be married anymore, doesn't want to try to fix anything,  and he already looked up how to go about filing for divorce!!!!  She is devastated and just doesn't understand how he can just up and walk away from their marriage.  She wants to try to fix things and he is just not interested!!!!  Now it looks like instead of us continuing our travels in the spring we are moving into the house with her so we can take care of the animals and the house when she deploys until early 2019 when she can transfer.  We are glad we are here to help her out at this most difficult time but it sure changes all our lives as well as hers.  Who does something like this to another person?  And someone that you professed to love, honor, and cherish just 3 short years ago???  This sucks!!

Raequel,

My family stayed at the Sleep Inn on 41 just south of Great Lakes.  There is also a McDonald's right nearby it.  They provided a shuttle to and from RTC for PIR Friday morning and back to the hotel which we took advantage of and avoided having to get through the gate by car, park and walk to the drill hall.  Our driver dropped us off across from the gate, we walked through security and on to the drill hall.  Took about 5 minutes!!!!  We lived in Waukegan for about a year and this hotel was one of the nicer ones as apposed to some of the really older hotels farther north!!!  Just my opinion!!!
