Hi ladies!

Anna, my mother used to say "good riddance to bad rubbish". I hope as Jenn continues to advance and succeed she feels validated and strong! Thank God she has you and your husband as her parents! HUGE congrats on Mission Commander, please give her a high 5 & hug from this Navy mom - and awesome picture!!!

I'm sorry you're going through this JayDee. I've felt that pain with all 3 of mine as they've grown up. There seems to be a few years when young adults need to make a point of being separate from us and assert their independence. They do come back, though it may be baby steps at first. Hang in there. You've obviously raised a strong, intelligent young woman -- she'll realize that and call you with a heart full of love when you're not expecting it!

Safe travels bbcregular.

Hi spyder!

Well ladies.... SHE'S HOME!!!! Longest 7 months of my life! We met her ship last Friday morning and had a wonderful weekend celebrating in San Diego! Is there anything better than seeing them see you as they pull up to that pier??? The emotion is absolutely over the top! Hope you don't mind, I'm including a couple pics and a video link from their deployment. I feel like I'm breathing for the 1st time since July!

Thanks Anna.  I'm just trying to patiently wait.  My oldest daughter did this to some extent but came back around a little faster.  I believe she's said a couple things to our sailor but right now she knows everything.  I do think some of it is her husbands influence.  Not that he's trying to be a problem, I think they're just trying to find their own way.

A friend of mine decided to sell their home and go the RV way last fall.  Since then they've sold their first RV for a larger one with more slide outs!  She was retaining a second home here but has now decided to give that up too.  I've been trying to talk my husband in to this but it will be a few more years.  I envy you guys!

bbcregular,

I am so excited to hear of your plans to become full-timers!!!  I know we won't get to travel at all this year and that's ok for the time being!!!  We do miss our little trailer life but this is more important now!! If you find yourself coming through Oklahoma City, or nearby, please let me know - I'd love to meet you and your hubby!!!!!

JayDee,

I'm so sorry you are being shut out right now. I know it hurts.  Strangely enough our first visit to Jenn and David in OK was very much the same for me.  I felt like she was not the same with me as we had always been and I was feeling almost like she kept reprimanding me for all kinds of stupid stuff.  Luckily by the time we got around to the wedding she was back to being my sweet daughter.  About a year later, she told me that so much of that tension on our first visit was because David was putting so much pressure on her because he didn't like the way we were doing things!!!!!  Today she told me she is so grateful that we stood beside her through all of this and that we are here with her!!!!  I really hope your daughter gets through her "growing pains" and your relationship comes back around!!!  Hang in there Mom!!!

Thanks Spyder!!!!!

I'm sorry, hopefully she comes around! Sometimes it just takes them awhile to realize we are still needed and wanted!
Have a great day everyone!

bbcregular, that's interesting as my daughter wants an enlisted career also.  She has told me some of the reasons but I suspect that there are more.

Unfortunately my sailor girl has decided that she is married and independent and that mom is a nuisance.  Sigh.  I'm truly annoyed with her as she refuses to add me to her FRG.  She said she gave them the information when she got to her ship and there's nothing more she can do.  In fact I know that she can do something and sent her the information, but she's just flat refusing to do it.  My husband says that she's just trying to adult and thinks that she can prove that she's adult by not having her mom listed on everything.  Hoping she grows out of this one, her sister did.  In the meantime I'm struggling with feeling shut out.

We've had our share of cold weather and there's lots of snow piled up on my ski hill.  Been enjoying lots of ski time, it's good for the soul.

Happy Monday ladies, I have been silent for a while. Daughter and new SIL are beginning to understand that they have to write their own marriage rules while at separate duty stations. Income tax return is yet another decision they have to make. Daughter has been self reliant and now she has to learn to the give and take of marriage. SIL did pass his polygraph and is CTI 3rd Class stationed in GA. We have been running from the cold and stayed the last two months in FL. Both hubby and I spent 2 weeks recovering from the flu. We have one more week of RV living before we return to the house. Did decide to dress the house up to put on the market. We are going to take the plunge and travel full time in the RV. Sailor daughter is OK with the plan because she has already said she would not return to the area to live. She is still talking career but now as enlisted. She has her reasons for staying enlisted and I will accept them.

Anna, I will continue to pray for Jenn. Such a quick divorce. Glad you are available to be with her and her doggies while she readjusts to single life. Congratulations on Mission Commander. I agree with JayDee, good things are coming her way.

On a high note, Jenn has a friend who is a photographer and she happened to catch one of Jenn's planes flying overhead!!
