Question for you more seasoned Navy Moms...has anyone ever moved while your Sailor was gone? Any advice from having 'been-there-done-that?' Our daughter is still in Boot camp, headed to A school soon, but we will be moving houses and towns while she is gone - and I can't even tell her till PIR. Just not the news I prefer to put in a letter.

Blondie sounds like nothing has changed, you're busy as always!

Sounds like Tahlia is allergic to the hasics! Thank goodness they have epi pens now.

Anna, how is the knee coming along, is it behaving when you ask it to do something?

Oleander  how is your sailor doing now that she's back from deployment, have you gotten to see her much?

JayDee, Looks like us.  We got it last Tue. the 13th, Blizzard conditions, this Tue. 20th not so bad but 6.25 inches.  Ohio doesn't believe in Spring or Calendars.  LOL  Has brought all the wild life out too, looking for food.  We have 9 deer, 4 turkeys and lots of birds calling our yard home!

Tahlia's allergist did skin test;  Milk, Soy, Eggs, peanuts and all tree nuts. that is the first results, waiting on blood work now.  Epi pen is a Must!  A little different, we were first told all dairy. But she wants to get a better picture, then they'll do an in-office test where they introduce the food individually....Oh my!

School Musical this weekend, nephew is the lion in the Wizard of Oz. So oldest daughter and husband coming home. YEAH!!!  Hubby will lose his job June 1st.  Hardware is closing.  He will be 62 in Nov. but still can't really afford to retire. :(  So guess he'll be job hunting.

Morning everyone!

Wow JayDee that's beautiful! ... but kind of bi-polar for Mother Nature, isn't it? My oldest daughter lives in NJ and is getting slammed with yet another storm! Sister in Cape Cod also! Stay warm - it sounds like a perfect day for crock pot soup!

So good to hear your healing Anna. I'm sure the process is much slower than you were hoping for but we're still hanging in there with you & praying for a full recovery!

Welcome Roberta - my daughter is DC also! She graduated bc about 3 yrs ago and is stationed in San Diego. She was deployed in July but came back safe and sound early February (Yay!!!). Be sure to keep us posted on her progress and PIR date. And definitely write! Your letters will mean so much to her!!!

Hope everyone is well and their sailors are safe!

Good morning ladies, not sure if yesterday was the first day of spring or April Fools day.  We have 8" of snow and it's still coming down.  I'm fortunate enough to be able to work from home so I have soup in the crock pot and dogs who are loving that I'm home.  Sailors dog is a giant white dog with black spots, this weather makes the perfect camouflage for her.

Here's the view of my back yard:

Roberta we have another mom on here whose daughter is a DC, at least I'm pretty sure.

Oleander, isn't your daughter a DC?

If I understand you correctly you've not gotten the form letter yet.  Have you gotten your 'kid in a box yet"?

Comment by Roberta on March 20, 2018 at 4:15pm

Anna, thank you for the welcome. Pray for continued healing and strength.
JayDee659, my daughter is going to be a Damage Controlman and I believe her PIR is going to be 5/11/18, that is not a for sure yet as I have not received the Form letter to confirm that. Super excited when I find out and get her address. So many family wishing her well from AK & lower 48 will by eagerly anticipating letters including her Fiancée. I've been writing letters and saving them to mail. The jokes & inspirational messages will definitely bring her joy.

Welcome back Anna!

krikris, my daughter put in for the other side of the country also, and ended up about as close to home as should could be for her job!  I look at it this way, they're going to be out in the ocean a lot anyway so as long as she's happy then I am.  My daughter spends so much time at work that I don't think I'd get to see her often even if she was right here.

Congratulations on her graduation!  I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time with her.
