Hi Digga, welcome to Navy Moms. Make sure you video the Swearing in a Great Keepsake. And all the Emotions are very Normal. I tried my best to keep it under Control when my Son swore In, but at the end and having to say Goodbye I fell apart. I can still remember so clearly that day. Congratulations to your Son and to You and Your Family on your New SR. (Seaman Recruit). if there is anything I can do or answer for you please do not hesitate to reach out. And again Welcome to this first part of your Loved Ones Journey!

Thank you so much!! I’ve been sitting here waiting on the “I made it” phone call. I just found out there was a delay in the flight? Will the phone call come from his cell phone or what? Are they allowed to keep the cell phone during the flights? I’m so anxious to know what is going on

Yes, he will have his cell phone until he gets to the RTC, but hopefully he remembered to turn it off during the flight. The "I'm here!" call will be the last call he makes from his cell phone before he puts it in "the box" and sends it home with the other things that he cannot keep at BC.

Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what will soon be happening and what to expect.

Check your My Page.

the delay maybe because of weather, but he will get there. The call may come in the wee hours but keep phone near.  Mrs. LemonElephant gave good advice. She helped me get through this part if my Sons journey. It will be a year already for me. Just went thru my first experience if deployment. Right now my Son is here visiting. There are many knowledgeable ladies on this site, so never hesitate to ask. Read the site she has posted below it will explain what happens when they get their. And when you receive the box why their pant legs are rolled up. And check shoes socks for phone and battery. Let me know what happens. We are here for you.

Hi Digga, Congratulations and Welcome! You will find lots of encouragement, support s and information  from everyone here they are wonderful! We all feel all those emotions at one point but know that it will get better as the weeks go by and you start to write to your son and receive calls. Hang in there :)
