krikris,

I'm glad she made it there safe and sound, and was able to enjoy a weekend with friends!!!!  Hope all goes well for her, keep us posted!!

Ladies have been quiet on here lately.  I know lots of you are busy with summer events!!  This is my last week of Paradise in Pensacola!!  Had a great achievement last weekend when officer daughter and I climbed the Pensacola Lighthouse!!!!  My now good knee had no problems - the other one however . . . . . . . .   Hopefully I'll get that one replaced soon!!!!

Hope everyone is doing well!!!

Hi all!

Well, DD got to Portsmouth late on Thurs before the long weekend and was able to get the last available room in the barracks.  She spent this past week getting paperwork done and some orientation-type classes.

She was able to meet up with one of her A-School friends and spend time with him and his family at the beach over the holiday weekend.

So far she sounds like things are going OK.  I think she’s just ready to really get her schedule set and get to “work.”

We are looking forward again to our weekly phone calls for her updates.  She’s not much of a conversationalist with us.  We have to think hard about the questions we ask so as not to get just one or two word answers.  Though I suppose it’s par for the course, considering she is still just a teenager (for a few more months anyway) lol

4GensOfSailors, YES, our baby girls are well our Babies!  Being girls and our babies we're just closer, not that I'm not close to my other children...but it's different!  But I have been told it's harder when it's your sons because they don't' tend to communicate like our girls  I get it my nephews and SIL don't communicate but sends messages or when they come home tell me How important those cards, letters and boxes were to them.  But this is our Babies we're talking about!  LOL  HUGS my friend, we're here for you.

4GensOfSailors,

I so understand your thoughts on watching your girl go off to bootcamp.  Our son joined the Navy in 2003 and we knew that was what he wanted to do.  My husband and I are both Navy vets so we fully understood that call and what was ahead for him.  Then in 2007 our daughter started talking about joining after high school.  She left July 2008!!  I was surprised how much more difficult it was on me watching her go.  I kept thinking about how my mom felt when I left but unfortunately she passed away just 2 months before my daughter left.  I think that made it harder for me!!  But it was all good, she's out now and is proud to be a Navy Vet.  Son is still in and another daughter is serving as well!!!  Don't hesitate to ask any questions or address any concerns you may have!  I look forward to sharing this awesome journey with you!!

Hi everyone! Its been a while since I have been on the website but it is getting close to that time again for me. Last year my oldest son graduated BC in April and next month, my daughter ships out to BC! I think this one is even harder than the first because she is my little girl all grown up!
