For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Here is the FC COOL sheet, pages 8 ad 9 show the NECS available through C schools. The trick is, they combine some of them into one system! Expect 4 to 8 months of school, plus hold times.

Wikipedia names the systems they might train on.

Comment by barefootie on May 21, 2018 at 6:47pm: Sorry. C school approximately 12 weeks for my sailor but it all depends on the equipment they are being trained on. Some are longer. I know my sailor has one more school after his C school before his deployment to Japan

Comment by Anti M on May 21, 2018 at 10:19am: Both ET and FC A schools are located at Great Lakes, on the Training Service Command side of the base. A school students usually do not get to take leave while in A school. The exception is for holiday stand down if they are there for Christmas/New Year, when they can usually take a week or so. Leave after A school, before C school is the most common option, although now and then they must wait until after C school.

Comment by Anti M on May 12, 2018 at 8:13am: ET or FC? Both are quite long, and will include hold times which increase how long they are there. First is ATT, the electronics prep school, which is 9 weeks. Then ET school is 42 weeks, FC school is 31 weeks. The hold time waiting to class up varies a lot, but it can be several weeks.

Both ratings have C schools, those are located elsewhere, and vary in length.
