Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Wisdom teeth in BC
Hi Ladies!
So I know my Son will likely have to have Wisdom teeth extracted in BC, but my question is this:
WHEN? Do they do it early on? I know they give 2-3 days SIQ to recover, but I'm still concerned that this will affect his PFA's.
Anyone know the answer to this?

Wisdom teeth will not be extracted until after their initial run is passed. They will still have to do the other two, but the teeth are not done at a time it should have any bearing.

I was wondering about this, too! My FS had an oral surgeon appointment to extract 2.5 weeks prior to his ship-out for boot camp on July 18...but we cancelled, as suggested by his recruiter, not wanting to have a "surgery" or change in medical status. Thanks, this is good to know!

My son had this done about 4 weeks in and I think his was just a day or two and yes he did graduate on time.

My son had his extracted after his first run test. He wrote a letter & said he was sore but had 2 days of SIQ. He's in his 5th week of BC right now, so I am guessing all is well & healed up!

My son had it done 2nd week in took him 3 days to recuperate and then he got a sinus infection, he managed to get it all done but had to work hard

Hi, my son had his wisdom teeth removed in about the 3rd week of BC. He missed his phone call home that weekend. He was in SIQ for 3 days and was right back into his division. It didn't seem to interfere with his PFA's. I think they did it near the weekend and I think he was back to his division on a Monday or Tuesday. But then again, that was his division. I don't know if they do it the same for every division.
