Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Time slipping away

Time is slipping by so fast and in just a few short weeks my baby boy will leave for RTC and then out into the world of the Navy. We are beyond proud of him and all he has accomplished. My husband is 71 and I am 57, so this young man was a very special blessing from day one. Our oldest son will soon be 31 and has three daughters (he is an army vet). Our recruit turns 19 about 9 days before his ship date. He insists we don't make any kind of fuss over him, so we will do our best. He will be a third generation Sailor on my Husband's side. We realized at 14 that he was bored with public school and decided to home school until he got old enough to take the GED (16). It took a couple of years for him to decide which way he wanted to go and this spring went to a recruiter where he blew the top out of the ASVAB and a couple of other tests. He is getting excited about all there is ahead of him and seems to be happy with his choices. We would be proud of him even if he wanted to drive a trash truck. He is an awesome young man, a fantastic uncle to his nieces and I know God will walk before him and show him the way. He has already did some research on volunteer opportunities at A-School for extra credits. I pray that he will always remember how much God loves him and that we will always have his back regardless of where he goes in life. We are not letting go we are lifting up, reaching for that top shelf. We love our baby boy, our soon to be Sailor! Our ship out date is July 24.

Yes, we pray that God will show them the way and give they strength & courage in BC, A school & out on the fleet. May your family write to him when you guys can to encourage, & cheer him on during this journey because we are their motivators & will always be there for them :) Enjoy your son for now, congratulations & so happy for you! Welcome here with all these wonderful ladies who will also guide you if you ever have a questions or just want to chat! :)
