Anna, great news all around!  Congratulations to your son, I know how proud of him you must be.

Hooray for knee #2.  You'll be the Bionic Navy Mom!  Praying for your surgery and quick recovery.

Anna, will be thinking of you tomorrow, Praying for  a good surgery and speeding recovery.  Congrats to son!

Busy here too, this time of year is constant go, go GO!  Add a new baby, a miscarriage, air force nephew home for a few days.....Life is Crazy!

All is well in VA we're planning our Oct. visit.  Connor had to go home early this past weekend, and next weekend his mom has birthday plans so I moved mine to Oct. 6th. just found out "the Infield" where we planned to take them for Go-Karts, Miniature Golf, Batting Cages and a Video Game Arcade closes Sept. 30th!   Grrrr all because his Mom wants....!

Hello Ladies!!  Life has been crazy busy lately trying to get some things done before I find myself out of commission for awhile!!  I am having total knee replacement surgery on my left leg this Wednesday.  For those who have been here for awhile you know that this is my second time around.  Had the right one done in February.

I have sent welcome messages to several new moms!!  Don't be shy - jump in and let us get to know you and your sailors!!  For some of you, I apologize that it took several days for me to send you your welcome!!

I'll try to keep up the best I can.  In the meantime, I hope everyone's sailor is doing well.  One piece of good news - - my sailor son finished all the requirements for his Master's degree.  First member of our family to get his Master's..  We are so proud of him!!

My only non-military son lives in SC with wife and daughter, and now the track they are showing has Florence heading right where they live.  They were going to head out and get south to GA but daughter-in-law's office refused to close.  I guess now they are going to leave tomorrow morning.  Nothing like having to stick around until the last minute!!!

Hope all our sailors and family members stay safe!!!

Blondie, she has not checked in.  She called me Saturday but I missed the call.  I asked her via text if she was heading out with her ship and she said "sometime".  I sent an email to her ships address but she doesn't always check it unless she's bored, and they keep the Nukes hopping so I'm not holding out hope.

No word from her husband but he's probably out too.  If they told them to check in, they'd check in with each other.

I do see that Florence is tracking south now.  Maybe Norfolk won't take a direct hit and they'll get in sooner than if it took a hit and had a lot of damage.

Let us know when you hear from your daughter.  She's probably busy concentrating on traffic.

Thanks JayDee, if these kids would just LISTEN to us!  She was still there yesterday afternoon. The school hadn't said if they were having classes last night or not. What?!!! She had e-mailed the school, talked to the school then e-mailed her professor….No answers. She was finishing her laundry, dishes were done but house was still a mess, toys on floor... I said think of the mess it will be in when you get back, WHO CARES!  Hannah(adopted daughter) lives in PA she offered to meet her half way so I think she will head that direction, it's closer.  She was also worried about WV, they've had a lot of rain, so she was worried about mudslides and road closings, okay good thinking BUT if you'd left last weekend. (I did not say that to her) Joe called her so we hung up I haven't heard anything since. Hoping she left yesterday and forgot to call me and I'll get a call from both girls saying, home, safe.  I can't begin to guess how many calls, text and e-mails I have received from family and friends.  I KNOW they mean well but nothing I can do!  I've tried everything to get my mind off it and then someone asks.... LOL

If your daughter is active duty she probably left with the ship. I'm surprised you haven't got a e-mail or call. usually they're very good about making everyone check in.  Joe's command has been in contact with Joe (overseas) and daughter. She has to check in again by Thur I think 8pm

Praying for you and yours and all those involved.

Blondie prayers for your daughters safe exodus.  It's a mess getting out when the evacuation starts, my daughter got caught in it 2 years ago when Matthew hit SC.

I have not heard from my daughter and am pretty sure she left with the fleet.  I'm sure she's annoyed as she had 4 weeks at home while she was in a school but that probably got cancelled.  She was really looking forward to being home for that long.  It would have been her longest stretch since coming in from deployment a year ago.

SIL's sub has not passed sea trials so I don't know if they put out with the fleet or are in.  I've text him and asked about the cat and bunny.

Mother Nature sure seems stirred up this year.

Please send positive vibes to the coast.  Prayers appreciated.  My daughter and granddaughter are still in VA. Her husband (deployed) and us both told her to leave last weekend, didn't happen . Now mandatory evacuation and she's gonna have to fight traffic, worry about gas, water, food.....

Hope you all had safe travels and enjoyed PIR. I KNOW you enjoyed all those Hugs from new Sailors!

Busy Holiday weekend as always, but Hubby got sick sat night /Sunday and decided to share I got sick Mon. night/Tue. still not  100%. Of course he had the long weekend to feel better I had to come to work and do Month-Ends, squeeze one and a half days into a half day and then stay for a Webinar!  I was so exhausted I told Ex-Sailor by text Exhausted going to take a nap!  You KNOW it's bad when I won't talk to Her!  But I did get up and call her and kept granddaughter busy for her to get supper on and change her clothes for school.  Then she called me back after classes on her drive home. Was up past Midnight making Pesto (neighbor picked a bushel of basil) !   Hubby finally back to work, he went back to the same job, just new owners.  Someone bought the Hardware and re-opened it.
