Welcome Bugsmom!  I think it’s like grieving over the loss of a loved one. No one can ever say or do the right thing to take that grief away. We have all been there!  That box has more meaning than anyone will ever understand!  Hugs!

Hello all, Am new to all this.  My daughter left for BC last Thursday and I have....moments.  It's ok, I know it's normal.  unfortunately we live in a very rural retirement area and I get the consoling older person that wants to assure me she is ok.  I get that but after a while it just gets to be much.  Does that make sense??  Anyway, counting the days for the "box" and have already been writing her, her first letter will be thick.  Hope that's not a problem.... Graduation is 8 weeks from the date she went in???

Thanks all!!!

Dorene, PIR is Pass in Review (Anna check me on this) and is the graduation.  It's a wonderful ceremony and I still watch the current ones on-line.  Waiting for those doors to open makes me cry still and my daughter had PIR 3 years ago 10/30 (coming up soon).

Tlpemp55 enjoy every minute.  My daughter's recruiter told her to make a list of what she wanted to do before BC and we did our best to make it all happen.  Got cut a little short as she was supposed to leave 12/7 and it got moved to 8/31.

Blondie, I ordered 2 wallets also, one for each daughter, just like Oleander.  Thank you so much for posting the link!

Anna, how's the knee coming along?

Daughter leaves for BC November 26th. Anyone else? Have read “what to do the month before BC”, but still interested in any other tips. THANKS.

Thank you Blondie - I ordered wallets for my 2 girls!!! And I love Piper's name, congrats again!

Hi Dorene, welcome! Yes, the BC group will help you with a ton of information, and once you know your daughter's PIR date join that group too. But you can always come here and ask questions and look for support.

Happy Monday everyone

Welcome Dorene!  Not sure if we have any BC moms in this group.  Ladies if you're a BC mom, please let Dorene know.

Make sure you join the BootCamp moms.  They have all the latest information and you're sure to find some with kids in your daughters division.
