Blondie, it sounds like you have your hands full.  My boss has been out sine Jan 4. First the flu now pneumonia.

We are supposed to get a dusting tonight but the big storm is Saturday for us as well.  Down here we'll get more of an icy mix with some snow.  Sunday's high is supposed to be 20 with a low of 3.  My team is working the Saturday evening shift and I'll stay on to help with the midnight.  Planning on riding with our Patrol Director who has a big old truck.  The road between here and the slopes is windy and 2 lane.  Usually takes an hour for the 25 mile ride but I'm anticipating a longer night.

Hope everyone is doing well out there!

That's Wonderful JayDee!   Hope you have a Great season and a Safe one.

Runnergirl, Great picture. Sounds like a busy time for you. stays safe and have Fun!

Anna, House shopping what fun.  Enjoy the Sunshine.  How's the knee???

We have a blanket of snow here, got freezing rain last night(lots of ice and cancelations today) and more snow this afternoon and tomorrow.  This weekend they are predicting a foot or more!  Been a CRAZY week here, Massage therapist and Boss Doctor sick Monday thru????  Other Doctor was sick by Monday noon!  Only ones working are me and the Nutritionist. A lot of calling and canceling and re-scheduling....I put on answering machine we were closed Tue. came in this morning to 34 messages!  What don't they understand about closed?!  I guess Doctor's aren't allowed to get sick. :(  Still don't know if I have a Doctor for the rest of the week, wait and see....they have no idea how hard this is on me and scheduling.  Was heading to Columbus to see Pregnant daughter this weekend for her birthday, with the weather, we'll have to wait and see on that too!  Life is just difficult here right now.  I just keep taking vitamins, defusing my oils and Smiling.

Anna, I just got home from working my first ski patrol shift of the season.  We opened yesterday, not all trails, but some cold temps and a couple inches of natural snow helped.  It will be snow making temps for awhile so things should pick up.  The snow was very nice today and we had zero incidents (a record for Sunday morning).  To my great delight our best trainer was there and asked me to ski with him.  I got a 3 hour private lesson and had several "ah ha" moments.  My instructor even gave me several compliments and he does not give them out unless you really earn it.  Although I'm tired I'm super excited to see the season off to a good start.

How's your knee holding up with the cold?

Jennifer2018,

Congratulations to your daughter!!!  Yes, this will be an adjustment for both of you!!!  I wish her all the best!!

You don't have to worry about anything you posted.  All your info is vague and doesn't raise any security issues!!  You can give the name of her ship, that is not a security issue either.  And even the Navy website gives general locations of all our ships so that information is not classified.  You'll notice they don't give exact coordinates but they will tell you what fleet they are operating in.  Doesn't mean anyone can find any information about your daughter!!!!!  But it's always good to be aware and ask if you're unsure!!!  Let us know how she likes her ship life!!!

RunnerGirl66,

Congrats to your daughter also.  My daughter graduated from OCS in 2012!!!  How exciting that your husband will be part of the ceremony!!  My profile picture is of my three-out-of-four children in the Navy at her commissioning.  Her brother and twin sister got to give her her first salute!!  I understand OCS doesn't do that anymore!! Love your family picture!!!!

JayDee,

Hope you get that snow you are hoping for!!  We actually had 3 to 4 inches snow here in Oklahoma last week, just before Jennifer and I left for Pensacola so she could look for a house!!!  We were so happy to head south!!!!!

RunnerGirl66, I sent you a pm. I'm on National Ski Patrol also (maybe you can tell by my pic).

Happy New Year to everyone!  We had my daughter home for four quick days over Christmas.  It was so nice to have the entire family here in Michigan.  We even managed to get a family picture done.  That was my favorite Christmas gift!

My daughter will Graduate from OCS next Friday and my husband will commission her as an Officer. That will be one of those once in a life time moments.  I am so excited that it's almost here.  We will be able to have all five of us there before my second daughter goes back to school in California.  Luckily here last semester of college starts the Monday after OCS Graduation.  Following Graduation we literally go in five different directions.  I will go to Houston to run a half marathon with my niece. I had no idea when I signed up for it last summer, how busy we would be now!

Well, I'm off to my shift as a National Ski Patrol.  It should be a nice day of skiing.  Have a Great week!

Hi ladies!  I've had a busy start to my new year.  After being off work from Dec 19 until Jan 2 there was some catch up to do and now we're in to year end closing.

My sailor wasn't able to come home for Christmas, but her husband's sub came in so they were together for the holidays.

It has finally gotten cold here.  Hoping our ski area can make some snow and actually get open after this unusually warm and wet winter here.

Hi Jennifer.  Sounds like your daughter is going to see the world!  So exciting for them and us.  It is an adjustment to live on ship, just remember anything you send should be little or consumable, that's the advice my daughter gave me years ago.  I'd send little fun toys, like travel size games, hacky sacks, card games, they have very little storage. I send lots of energy snacks, peanut butter, nuts, bars.... and send extras to share.  I'm glad you got to visit her, always fun and nice to see their world. and Hawaii, who wouldn't want too?!

yesterday was high of 50, this morning 29, windy and snowing(wind chill 11) they told us no accumulation that's a lie! Temps. are suppose to drop all day and now accumulation is Anyone's guess! gotta love our weathermen.
Check in please, let us know how you're weathering the storms. (pun intended) LOL
