I'm hearing of these young individuals and marriage... are most couples where one is military and the other not...is it to that the couples were not together long or knew each other well? I ask as I know my girl wants to get married and currently in basic, she can't see her boyfriend of course but both will be military and have been together since they were 15... they will be turning 19.. just a concerned mom....

bbcregular,

I'm happy to hear your house sold and you are joining the ranks with us other full-timers.  Where in FL are you going??  We will be moving back in our trailer over the next week or two but hanging on here until the beginning of March.  Then we head over to Gulf Shores and begin our track north!!

So sorry to hear about your daughter.  I understand as both of my daughters married another military person and both have ended in divorce.  The youngest daughter married when she was only 17.  I tried to tell her to wait awhile but he was her knight in shining armor coming to her defense and she thought he was the one.  After they married he became increasingly controlling, not letting her go out with her own friends while he went out drinking with his friends all the time.  Second daughter waited longer to get married and also felt like she could mold him into the man she needed.  We think he got involved with someone else because while on her last deployment he told her he was unhappy but didn't want to work on the marriage at all.  The week before Christmas he moved out and filed for divorce immediately after.  6 months later he married a fellow paramedic!!!!  I think it's hard on us to see our daughter's relationships fail - like somehow we didn't do something right.  I learned to just listen to both girls and just be there to support them.  (That's why we've been parked in Oklahoma for this entire past year!!!)  I hope your daughter gets through this change in plans and comes out stronger on the other side!!!  I give her all my best wishes.

Bbcregular I'm so sorry to hear this. Its so hard for these kids, they are sure they're in love but can't spend time together to find out for sure. I will certainly keep you all in my prayers.

Just want to check in. Closed on our house and we are officially houseless and living the full time RV life. Spending the winter in Florida. That is the Happy note.

The sad note is that I need to share somewhere safe that my sailor girl will be getting a divorce. Sailor SIL spent Christmas with daughter. Only the third time they have been physically together since they married December 2017. The visit did not end well and now I have been getting messages from both of them that they want a divorce. They did not know each other well when they married and both thought they could change the other. I prayed a lot that they would fall madly in love with God and then be able to be madly in love with each other. Now I pray that God heal the hurt that they both feel. I support my daughter in all she does but was never ok with this marriage. I wanted to support her anyway. Now we need to travel to SIL’s base in Augusta GA and get her personal items. Just need prayer.

Blondie I have a friend who lives near Chardon and she got 17".  The videos of her little dog in the snow were adorable.

We got about 2" at home but at there were about 6" when we left our ski resort.  We sat there all afternoon in pouring rain watching it slowly turn to an ice storm.  Then the winds picked up to 40mph and the snow started.  The trip home was not fun, but thank goodness I was riding with another patroller in his Subaru.  That thing kicked butt in the snow, my next car is a Subaru.

We ended up getting 13 inches of snow.  With wind gusts 35-40 mph.  Drifts anywhere from 2 1/2 feet - 4 ft. tall.  Not what I'd call a blizzard but they are calling it blizzard-like. LOL  Never really lost visibility tho.  Now we are -12 degrees with a wind chill of -25!  Now that's COLD. Churches closed yesterday some businesses today and schools were already off for Martin Luther King Day.  But of course we're at work today and hubby got 2 calls late last night. So life as usual.  Didn't get to go see daughter over weekend so trying to plan another weekend.

Hope you all are Safe and Enjoying this weather.  Loving it here!

JayDee, Enjoy your season but be safe!!!

Knee is doing ok.  Still a little stiff and still don't have full range of motion like my right knee.  Had my last Dr. appt - told him my knee tells me when it's going to rain and when it's getting cold.  He said "barometer built in, no extra charge!!!"  Sweet guy!!!

I wish they'd just say close the office for the week but they say maybe tomorrow, don't cancel appointments until I tell you, so each morning I get the call....Then I worry when they do come back if they over do it, then get sick again.  Oh well, I just follow directions.  I'm losing hours anyway.  They don't want to pay me if no one's here making money, so I come in cancel appointments for that day, change the answering machine and pick up the mail.  Then go home.  Getting a lot done at home but a hassle driving on these roads for an hour or 2 of work.  It's a mess.

Sounds like we're getting all snow and lots of it but just wait and see where the storm tracks. Stay SAFE my friend but Enjoy!
