Hang in there ladies, your recruits are going through a rough period that unfortunately is normal, but hopefully works itself out very soon. Send those inspirational, motivational letters tonight! Acknowledge how they feel (they need to know you heard them), and remind them to help the guy out next to them, even if they don't like him or if it's the one screwing up. I keep trying to stress the importance of team work and how they need to work together. I am curious if any of you are on other PIR groups - you can learn a lot from people ahead of you in this bc game and you can offer assistance to those behind you. The reason I ask is this: Something I have never heard of has happened to at least one division who has graduation this coming Friday PIR 7/9/2010 (that's 2 days away!!!). They finished BS-21, received their Navy caps, started celebrating, then were told that their graduation is in jeopardy and they must re-do a 2 hr segment of BS-21 tomorrow morning at 4am. Now, this sounds very cruel, but the Navy doesn't do this in jest - there must of been something that they didn't do well as a "team/unit/division" that the Navy is concerned about. Remember, these guys/gals will be out on our ships, for the safety of themselves and others, they MUST know what to do in an emergency. That's why learning to work together right now is sooo important. Like I said, I'm not trying to worry anyone, but advise your recruits to do whatever they can now to assist anyone having a problem. And pray for those recruits and families of PIR 7/9 that all will be well and everyone will graduate.

RNnavywife, I got a letter from my son today and he says he just wants to graduate so he can relax for a few hours. He never tells me how bad it really is, I'm not sure why, Why did they join in the first place if they just want to screw around. I am keeping the entire division in my prayers.

Hi Susan-Andrewsmom. I think there are 11 divisions graduating on 7/30/2010. If you go on the Great Lakes Website, you can view upcoming graduations and this is what they have posted for this date.

Ideas for celebrating!!!!!!!!!!
Downtown Libertyville is not far from the base.
Take 137 west to 21 and head south.
Libertyville is a Great little town with amazing restaurants. Everything from
Mexican ( Casa Bonita) or italian.
It has an awesome Micro Brewery (Mickey Fins) or The Firkin
The Picnic Basket ( is a great place 2 go for a homemade awesome sandwich or salad and then picninc in the park across the street)
Fine Dining at "The Tavern" (amazing steaks, lobster, Cobe beef, and 5 star service .. opens at 5 PM)
Sports bar/Pizza ( I think it is called Tommy's)
Tons of fast food places.... and fun unique shops to visit on the stip.
A Great place to stroll with your Sailor!
Picture perfect town.. right out of the movies :-)
No I dont live there but I wish I did .. can you tell :-)
