Andrea, what ship is your daughter in at school?  Is she going to be an ET or FC?  My daughter is a FC :)

I'm right with ya. My parents have both passed away. My oldest sister and her husband go to Mexico for two weeks at Christmas every year, and my other sister is a pilot and most of the time is out of town for holidays. Last year, my kids and I went to a movie on Christmas. We got up, opened gifts, fixed breakfast and then had no other plans. It was really fun, actually, and the theatre was surprisingly full.

Enjoy your holiday, Ladies. Whoever you spend it with!!!

I hear ya Anti M ... my parents, brother and sister all passed and my ex-hubby's parents and two brothers passed, so my kids were raised with no grandparents or aunts and uncles, (one uncle from their dads side, but they don't much) so it's just us.  It sure does make you appreciate your friends that much more and how fragile life can be. :)

It's 80 degrees here, no chance of snow, ever hahaha Houston! LOL

I am not sure if we are having a white Christmas or not. In Colorado the weather forecast changes every 20 minutes.

at the moment we are having freezing fog.

Friends are the best family to have...you get to pick them.  Enjoy the holiday Anti M and thanks for all your great information and advice over the last few months.

We have rain, looks like a brown Christmas.

If I am lucky, hubby will be home, and my friend Genius.  His wife is going up to Idaho to see her family, but he has to work. Looks like we'll be going out for Chinese dinner.  Oh, I have a brother here, and he'll probably drop by, and a widowed SIL, but we just don't like hanging out with each other.  He won't even talk to her, she dis-invited him and his family from gatherings for so long they won't speak.  My brother who was the family glue after Mom died, has passed away too.  Hubby's family is across the country. So my family unit is down to friends who have become family.  Sounds sad, but it works.

Sandy I went to the grocery store today. Can't believe my bill AND I have to get all the fresh stuff Fri morning!

Have a wonderful time with your family. Any snow in the forecast for you? Looks like we may have a white Christmas this year!

Lori, I am happy for you. Make the most of this Christmas for sure.

I am having all my family here too for Christmas. I got extra food so that there will be plenty. Boys eat a lot so I wanted to make sure there's enough. I want to send food home with my parents.

I will have all my kids, grandkids, grand dogs here for Christmas- I feel very blessed indeed. Next year could be so different. This is worth much more than anything put under the tree.

Anti M - I hear you! I did less gift buying this year and more donating to local charities: Toys drive, Men's Mission, battered women's shelter, PetSavers, food bank. I have both of my kids home for Christmas and that's the best gift in the world!
