The form letter came about 2 days after the kid in the box came... :(  There was no note or anything in the box Paul sent. Just his clothes, shoes and cell phone. Mind you, I did look on his cell phone to see if he wrote a little message, but no luck. It'll come!!! Trust me, the form letter will be there, and if time is on their side, maybe there will be a little note at the bottom of it! Paul wrote me like 4 lines. :)

Well- sheer disappointment. No form letter in the kid in a box...did that happen to anyone else? And how long did it take to get there after the box:(?

Morning Ladies -

 

Nicole - Yay so close to the first letter. Oh does that bring back memories. Remember the kid in the box, the first phone call where they sounded like hell, and the beginning of stalking the mail man. I don't miss that, but wow, what feelings you going through this again brings up. We are sooooo... with you sweetie. You know we have all adopted you so when you go in, you have this many more Mom's who are going to support you. Let us know if the BF needs letters or something. I'm sure we could help.

 

Mary - I am now thinking I have to have a pair. I've never tried one on so did not know that they are super comfy and warm. The drop seat might be an issue since I'm uber talented at dangling stuff into the toilet when going. LOL...  Belts, bathrobe sashes, you name it, somehow those little devils just dive right in when I'm least prepared to rescue them. Oh and on the ASVAB for dummies book, I got Cody one so he could study it. He still needs to take the ASVAB this summer I do believe to start having an idea to what his job might be in the Corp. I'm just a year out on his going in. Lordy! He's my baby and last and I think this one is going to really be tough. But I still have a year, so I'll save the tears for then.

 

Hurley - yeah Haley and I sort of got all excited about this and didn't look at anything else. Sounded like a great job, safe, interesting, great bonus and neither of us figured she would have this much difficulty with it. So... our bad. She also knows that changing her rate is going to be difficult or not happen at all right now. She doesn't want to do anything that will mess up her future in the Navy. She likes it, just not her job. I think it has a lot to do with the girl she's working with. If she was supportive, Haley wouldn't be feeling quite so dumb and discouraged. But what can you do. Maybe she'll get lucky and something will open up and everything will fall into place. If not, well there are many times in our lives we end up doing stuff we don't like. That is called building character. Oh and I'm feeling really well. A tiny bit sore but now I am well enough that I have to be sure I behave and not set myself back. 5 more long weeks to go. Sigh!

 

Well folks I'm out of here. I really, REALLY, need to do a little housework. Somehow it just doesn't do itself. Lol...  Have a fantastic Friday and weekend. I hope you all hear from your sailors/guardsmen soon. RSL and XXX's & OOO's.

You can get an" asvab for dummies" book and it has practice tests. She could probably take a legitimate practice test with a recruiter

Ok Mary, so a drop seat? Thought that was just something I saw on cartoons! Hey, also tell Morgan unlike the Navy where the girls PT is adjusted ( and old men like Matt) the CG makes the girls do the same IT and PT regardless of sex or age. I have a story to share but I will do that on our FB group. What is Air Guard? air Force?

I love the footed PJs! My feet are always cold, but I have a question Mary, how do you do your...um...business? I remember my kids were little I had to take the whole dang thing down. But, no matter, I can see myself in them.

MrsB this is great news for you! Wish you the best of luck. Crazy how and when prayers are answered.as for Paulson cut...ew! I can't look at blood, more power to you

Hey iris, I guess just like any job these kids have to see if they like it by trial and error. Kinda hard if they sign with a rate and don't even know if it's right for them. Matt was lucky because he has a degree in criminal justice plus he was already a cop so he knew he would like it in the navy. Now, on the other hand I have Marc who is a non rate, CG your a non rate unless you go in as an FS( food services) he's not sure what he wants. They can't even apply for an A school until they are in for 4 months. Then it takes from one to two years, just to get into an A school. So in his case you better know what you want to do otherwise it could take awhile to finally get to do what you really want. The saying is " choose your rate... Choose your fate"

Anyone hear from AJ lately? Do we need to do the whole buddy calling system for her? I saw on our news a hurricane formed off of southern Mexico, not so far from costa Rico

WOW Mrs. B- That is wonderful news. Maybe you guys can get a lot of compensation out of this.

Mary- My daughter loves those PJ's also. Really wanted some while in GL's. They are so comfortable to lounge in. Can't believe you have naked guys running around your yard. Really can't believe the girls would go inside. LOL

Iris- So glad your daughter was there to help her friend in a time of need.
