Sending letters.. what's okay what will catch trouble

I'm getting conflicting messages. I have read it's okay to send cards in white envelopes... No glitter etc. I also read an idea for having people on Facebook leave a note of encouragement and mail that to our recruit. However... A friend on Facebook who has a son 3 years into hos Navy service told me that my recruit will be made fun of for cards and for a print out of encouraging messages from Facebook... Has anyone had experience with either of these one way or another? Thanks!

Ktsmom96.. What a cute idea to include family photo on your paper!

Side question: Our SR took a very small pocket Bible and now asked us to send his larger book size Bible.  Is it OK for me to send a self-addressed pre-postaged evvelope for him to return the other smaller one?

qckkmom think you can send the return envelope in with the larger Bible....or he may have room to keep it in his drawer just to have...you may just want to ask at the post office how much postage it will need...

Thanks.  PO was helpful and I was able to send pre-addressed pre-postaged envelope; I just am not sure he will be able to use it.  (I thought I read somewhere that pre-addressed envelopes were not encouraged.)  Regardless, I suppose we will find out in a week or so and will try to post the end result.

no Garrettsmom no magazines but you can find sports websites and print out pages with scores and highlights...
