For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

I sent a calling card with my son and I advise that you do that as well. I purchased one at Walgreens and showed my kiddo how to use it. I did not send him with stamps. He was able to purchase those at the NEX along with stationary and envelopes. I have sent him stamps in some letters I have written, just so that he can save some money. Hope this helps. You can message me if you have other questions. My son is on week 3 of boot camp.

I would definitely send these with him. Put them in his wallet which he gets to keep and it is no trouble. Make sure the calling card is set up and ready to go and he knows how to use it. Yes they can buy the card and the stamps at the NEX when they get there, however, then he has to set it up before he can use it and that takes time and may be the only amount of time he had to talk to you so he would not be able to call you and they get very, very, very little times to call. I wanted every minute possible to talk to my son and he didn't have to worry about wasting 10 minutes setting up the card during his allotted time. My son said there were several in his division that didn't get to talk to their people during the first call because of struggling with the card.
I wish recruiters would stop telling parents to not worry about these things and just tell them yes they can buy them there but it's better to have it ready for them.

I was reassured twice it unnecessary to send it with him. He is already in boot camp on week two. Would it be okay if I sent it now already set up?

Thanks. I asked him and he was like no Mom quit stressing. You heard the recruiter. He thinks I worry to much.

Mar3n1. Send the calling card, it's very easy to use. I called my daughter to try it out before I sent it in his letter. I wrote my telephone number on the front of the card with a sharpie. My son is on his second week. I found the cards at rite aid. He will grad on July 7. Take care

Definitely get a card (got one at Walgreens) and then set it up AND practice so when your SR gets phone time, there isn't wasted time trying to figure it out. I also sent stamps with my SR so he wouldn't have to waste time and money doing that... they gave home stationary and envelopes ...

Mar3n1 I sent a phone card and stamps . No problem for my sailor and believe me he is very concerned about the rules. I know that I wanted to be sure he had what was needed to stay in touch which is very little. Just know they only get 3 calls unless he earns an extra one I was lucky. But the letters were the best part. Remember they will be very busy and kept busy so not to think of family and home. They are being trained that his div and ship are there new family and to work as one group . Good luck and welcome to the family.
