For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

donating hair to locks of love
My daughter has long, beautiful naturally curly hair almost to her waist. She is donating her hair to Locks of Love before boot camp. I would encourage anyone to do the same. If our daughters have to cut their hair, they may as well do it before boot camp, donate it to Locks of Love, and know that their hair will make a difference in someones life.

Thanks so much for mentioning this! My daughter did the same thing with her long beautiful loches that she had cut off! Most hair salons know how and where to send the donation to! ;o)

My daughter did the same thing. so her sister and I joined in why not? it'll grow back and we were supporting our sailor and helping others. It's a win-win situation.

All my g'daughters have donated except one. She is three so still a bit young. It is a great program.

When my daughter left for bc she thought she could but her hair up in a bun but found out that was not true. So when they where waiting at Ohare for the other recruits they where trying to find something to cut it. Unfortunetly she wasnt able to and at bc they would not let her send it home with her personnel items. Of course it was a man and they don't know how much girls hair means to them especially if they never had short hair.

My Daughter donated 16 inches of her hair to "Locks of Love". I felt ill as her hair was being cut....I had to sit down! She will be going to BC on the 4th.

My daughter's hair isn't long enough to do that with, but strangely her older brother did that. He had hair down to his butt. lol.... He is now a Navy officer. Maybe I can talk her into growing it out before she goes off to boot camp.

Hi There,
Many hair salons will cut hair for free if they donate to Locks of Love. I asked my hair dresser and she donates to Locks of Love. I would suggest that you ask your hair dresser or contact a local salon and ask if they donate to Locks of Love. Hope this helps! Good luck!
