Just needed to vent having a super tearful day, they said they would come but holy cow out of no where I'm sitting here crying like a baby. Went through pictures and videos I have made and wow it has been a good life! I am so grateful for each and every person and moment I have been blessed to share with. Even though sometimes it feel's like you are- you are truly never alone! Hope you all have a wonderful day full of letters, phone calls, making memories or just remembering day's gone by. You all hold a very special place in my heart.

Emtbuggy,

I'm so sorry you are having a tearful day.  My son hasn't left yet and I find myself just boo-hooing at the thought of it.  I know that I will be pulling all these scrapbooks I've made out and making many more while he is away.

I had lots emails in my inbox this morning when I got to work.  I don't know what I would do without this site already and I know I will lean on it more heavily with each passing day.

May your higher power hold you in the palm of her hand today and comfort you and please....thank your sailor for their service!!!  I appreciate it!!

Yes for some reason I find myself very emotional at times.  Is it because he is the youngest? Because he will get married in April? Or good old hormones? Empty nest?  Who knows.  We just have to roll with them.  Hang in there.  They have challenges and we have ours too! LOL.  A Sr (or sailor's) support team has their own little cross to bear.  May you find comfort and peace with your pride of your SR.

I had the same problem. I got a call Sat. and tried to control myself but still sounded shaky on the phone. It has been two weeks now.

I understand, me too

I got to talk to my SR today for a half hour!!!!!!! He is doing wonderful and sounds happier than ever. He called to ask questions pertaining to his job but we got to catch up and he said he will be calling soon for his regular call he get's to make. He said his division is awesome and they are all doing very well they went from 82 down to 75. He got all of our letters and said he wrote to us all on Sunday so we should get them soon. Keep your phones with you at all times because you just never know when they might call. One happy NM here!!!! Have a wonderfully blessed day all!

Wow, that is great, emtbuggy!  I'm so happy for you, and I'm glad that he is doing so well. That was a nice long phone call, too!  Makes me look forward to hearing from mine when the time comes :)  Thanks for sharing, and enjoy those letters when they arrive!

Even though my son is not leaving till after summer, I find myself just thinking of the little things and there I go....bawling like a baby. He is my only son, my only child and my consolation is that my husband and I have done a great job! (I think - LOL).

My son is SOOO EXCITED to get to BC. And I'm excited for him. I know it is time for him to spread his wings and take flight. To adventure to places where I will probably never get to see.

Be comforted that you are not alone in this journey. We are here for you, as I know you all will be here for me when the time comes.

Look back at those memories, be happy and be thankful that you all are making new ones!  God Bless You!

It won't be long before joins the ranks. I am just hoping that I quit crying once she graduates.

I too have been very tearful...my daughter left Tuesday. She did call that night, so I know she made it. Yesterday and today I've been just a little emotional. So grateful for this site and to know I'm not alone. I can't wait to get her card so I can start sending letters. Her 21st birthday is towards the beginning of March, I'm so sad that I don't think I can get a card to her by then or just pick up the phone and call her.
Untill then I'll just keep sending her positive thoughts and prayers.

Maddog08, so glad another mom with a daughter is on our forum. What date did your daughter arrive at Boot Camp? My daughter is on Ship 03, she got there 2/11.

Hi DonnaG, My daughter arrived at BC Feb 25th. What will your daughter be doing? Have you heard from her yet? Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, still figuring this site out...lol

She is undesignated. She called Sat. night and said she was doing  all right. Training is intense and they are on the move all day. Her biggest complaint is that the girls have very chapped hands and the compartment or barracks is cold. She passed her swimming test so she does not need to do any more swimming. However many failed their Physical Fitness Assessment and to train more, her included. I think that is power for the course for most. You should hear from your daughter soon. Did you get the form letter yet?
