Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

A wonderful way to honor Sailors Anytime, Anywhere!

During Boot, PIR, specialized training, deployment or when you're just thinking about your loved one on distant shores.

Don't forget holidays, family events or birthdays - Just light a a blue candle, any type of blue candle (Blue for Navy) and allow its warm glow to bring you comforting joy & peaceful solace, and while separated from your Sailor.

Two weeks or 8 years, it is still the same. We miss our Sailor all the time. We use a battery operated Blue Candle near his boot camp graduation picture. You can use a electric single candle with a blue bulb. I gave up with real candles.

We know this is what our Sailor wanted to do. Maybe not what we wanted them to do but that is the way it is. We call our Sailor our Adult/Son. They are no longer a child except in our hearts. We even have the little brown bear he use to cuddle so much that he wore off one ear. He was home a few weeks ago and we gave him his bear. He did not want it. We washed it and put it into a ZipLock bag and put it in our room. I touch the bear everytime I see it and am thankful it gave our son so much comfort.

Join NavyForMoms (N4M) PIR group by his graduation date. Meet other parents who will be going to the PIR. Try to attend a MeetNGreet (MNG) in the area of Boot Camp. We went the day before so we could attend "Sarge's MNG!" Free food (they accept donations) and buy your drinks. Hopefully you can meet friends you met on N4M PIR group. You will develop new friends to last a lifetime.

We told him to call his girlfriend for his 15 second call so I miss his voice. I know God has him in His hands but I'm working to get past this feeling. What a wonderful way to remember your SR.
