I didn't get to go last year. Son was just entering BC and I didn't feel a real Navy connection. However, THIS year I am totally looking forward to seeing Fleet Week from a totally new perspective.

Last year 17 of us from the San Francisco Bay Area Navy Families group gathered for dinner at the Marines' Memorial Hotel.

Here is the info from last year - in case anyone wants to organize one - Quiltlady's husband is a member of Marines' Memorial Club - she was our contact person. She and her husband along with my husband and I stayed up there for two nights. It was a great weekend. It's a bit far in advance but it'll be fun to do it again. The photos are posted under the SF group's photos.

I went last year, but didn't meet up with the Navy Mom's group, as I didn't realize that they were all meeting up there, and when..I'm scheduled to work that weekend, so I will have to work on getting the day off, once I know which date that you'll all be meeting up...Mu husband and I found free parking, and we took our bikes with us, and we rode all over SF..Had a blast and such a beautiful day it was...We went on a Sunday, and even saw the parade..The blue Angels were awesome, as well as all of the displays....Looking forward to the date, so I can get somebody to switch with me, if need be...

I am from Oakland.  Looking forward to Fleet Week especially since son just completed his P.I.R. 1/21/11. This Fleet Week will be special because of this fact that my son is a new sailor.
