Hi everyone, my son left for boot camp on Thursday, February 22, 2024. Have not written any letters because I don’t know my sons ship name etc. When or where can I get this information and when can I find out when he will graduate to bring planning our visit. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello all, hope all is well. My husband left for boot camp last Wednesday. I did receive a call when he got to Chicago. How soon would I receive a letter?

Hello! I’m a New navy spouse and my husband left for basic training January 7th 2024 and I was just wondering when should I expect a phone call or a letter from him ? because I feel like I’m going crazy lol I’ve been using Sandboxx to write him letters and they are saying delivered but I haven’t gotten any replies yet.

Hello Everyone! I'm a new Navy mom and have no military experience in the family. Please be patient with me as I have so many questions! Forgive me if my writing comes off rude or blunt - it's truly not intended. I'm just completely clueless, but also very thankful to have found this site to learn!

My son signed up for the Navy and I'm very confused about how the process is going. I understand that the process can be slow, but why are they sending my son back and forth for forms on records that are already submitted? Is this normal? We thought all was in order after he went to MEPS once. But he was told that he still needs forms signed off, etc. I'm sure there are thousands of reasons why information needs to be verified, but something seems off. My son even told me that he met a recruit at MEPS that went through MEPS 17 times. I guess it is what it is, but is this normal?

Sorry for the long post, but thank you kindly for any replies!
Best way to get aroundtag:navyformoms.ning.com,2023-12-04:1971797:Topic:113505402023-12-04T20:04:53.939ZBlue Tanghttps://navyformoms.ning.com/profile/LisaVermillionBlack

Our daughter is just finishing her 2nd year as an enlisted sailor. Now she tells us she wants to go for a "paid administrative leave" so she can attend college next fall (which would start just shy of finishing her 3rd year in the Navy). Her details are nebulous to us parents.

Any advice/clarification on what options sailors have BEFORE their contract is up as far as taking time out to start college and then hopefully enter the officer track?

My son called and he was finally ASMOd from the RCU to a new Div so he can finish out BC and graduate! So happy! They do an "alternate cardio" option now so he doesn't have to run and jump on that bone he's been healing for 3 months and it uses a stationary bike he's been training on (and exceeding OPFA standards on because they gave him a Mock OPFA to be able to ASMO him.) He was so relieved and so are we. And all on his 18th! What a gift! I was happy to hear they could do the training for…

I was happy to hear they could do the training for firearms during the RCU to make up and keep him from being behind so he was closer to graduation!
My SIL is (Lord willing!) set to graduate OCS on October 20. I would appreciate any ideas on CANDIO boxes, what to wear, the HI MOM event, gift suggestions, etc. Any information is appreciated. We already have our reservation at the Navy Lodge and our airline tickets that can be changed if needed. Thanks in advance!
