My sailor will be graduating from MA A School soon. He will have a 2 week break before he goes to his station. Any information about the graduation. I have read several posts but they are about 6 or 7 years old. Anyone have any recent updates?

Happy Monday everyone! I have questions that pertain to travel after A School and the amount of leave our Sailor may be granted.

We received a call from our SR on Saturday (he's in week 5) and he said that his Chief spoke to him to let him know that with his rate it's likely he'll be stationed overseas after A school. My first question is... if he's being stationed overseas, how much leave time will he have between A school and the time he reports? Does he get more leave if he's…

My first question is... if he's being stationed overseas, how much leave time will he have between A school and the time he reports? Does he get more leave if he's going to be overseas vs. staying state side? And my other question is... does anyone know what the average cost to the sailor would be to change his flight so that he can come home during this time?

He'll be in Meridian, MS for school, and when he said overseas my mind immediately thought Japan. Boy, I hope they don't send him to Japan. :(

Hi there!

My husband is currently in bootcamp, and then will be at A school for ACEF, leaning towards ET. If he goes ET I was going to move to Chicago to live with him. The schooling (stated at MEPS, MEPS documents & his recruiter) say that ET school all together would be 119 weeks. I was wanting to know how he would go about living off base with me.

I am looking for more detailed breakdown on A school in GC. I know they have Indoc first, approximately what does this all include. Any specification on the breakdown for rest of A school? My son will be MM when completed. I understand A school will be 3 months but that is only after it starts so the 3 months can be longer if there are longer hold times. I know he only comes home in between schools, hoe long is that time period. Lastly, does the school shut down over the Holiday time at all?

Does anyone know if there are any photos out there of their SR in A school? If so, can you please tell me where to find them. I miss my son.

My husband is supposed to graduate this Friday, June 5th. I have my travel all arranged but I'm concerned I haven't heard from him in 2 weeks now, the longest I've gone with no phone call. When will I get the "I Am A Sailor" call? Will I be called if he doesn't pass as well?

Hi Everyone,

I have a question. I am not sure if it has been asked or answered before but here it goes. For sailors that remain in Great Lakes for their A schools, do they have liberty the entire weekend after PIR? Do they have a curfew? How does it work? Thanks in advance!!

The RTC Facebook page has an announcement about the "Adopt-A-Sailor" opportunity for TGs graduating 31 Dec and 9 Jan. I am trying to understand the lengthy post and am hoping somebody can help. The way I read it, SRs have 3 options:

Receive a day pass to spend time with family (or another SR's family)

Receive a day pass to be hosted off base by a "host organization"

Stay on base and study, iron uniforms, polish boots, etc.

Am I missing anything?…

My sailor is currently in Pensacola, FL, he's getting ready to graduate from A school this Friday (the 12th) and we were told that shortly thereafter he would be going to C school. He's been stationed at NAS Lemoore with the VFA-94 squadron. Now, my question is, will he be going to C school in Lemoore or will he do C school aboard the ship? Currently VFA-94 is assigned to the USS Carl Vinson and it's deployed, I was told that they would probably fly him out to the ship, but what about C…
