It's 3 o'clock in the morning and I'm about to have a mental breakdown. I am sick and in a bad situation (being kicked out) among other things. Also, I can't seem to figure out how to book my flights and hotel through sites like expedia because either the flights are non transferable/refundable or you need to be 21+ to book the room. And prices skyrocketed as soon as I clicked checkout. I was planning on going alone but now I'm not sure if I can go at all. Plus, I can't talk to my SR until…

Plus, I can't talk to my SR until he's about to graduate so I don't even know how many days I need to be there. I am beyond stressed and I can't sleep. Any tips to book my trip and/or relax enough to sleep?
Prevention of Stress Fractures for Those in DEPtag:navyformoms.ning.com,2012-07-05:1971797:Topic:71699902012-07-05T00:25:23.495Zlemonelephanthttps://navyformoms.ning.com/profile/lemonelephant

I've seen quite a few moms mention that their recruits have stress fractures over my time on here and another one posted today. I wondered "What can be done to prevent this?" I found this from the Mayo Clinic and suggest that if you have a future Sailor in DEP that you have him/her start getting ready now to help prevent stress fractures at BC that could delay him/her for several weeks.

Simple steps can help you prevent stress fractures.

Make changes slowly. Start any new exercise program slowly and progress gradually.

Use proper footwear. Make sure your shoes fit well and are appropriate for your activity. If you have flat feet, ask your doctor about arch supports for your shoes.

Cross-train. Add low-impact activities to your exercise regimen to avoid repetitively stressing a particular part of your body.

Get proper nutrition. To keep your bones strong, make sure your diet includes plenty of calcium and other nutrients.

(See http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/stress-fractures/DS00556/DSECTION=prevention.)

We know that the PT and IT at BC do not begin as slowly and progress as gradually as some of the recruits might need because the RDC's want to get them ready to be Sailors quickly, so the Future Sailor must start preparing before shipping off.

NEED ADVICE. First Deployment... Actually Nervous?tag:navyformoms.ning.com,2012-02-03:1971797:Topic:68319202012-02-03T02:08:04.301ZChrissyJoyhttps://navyformoms.ning.com/profile/ChrissyJoy

I really need any person's help who has been through deployments before. This is my first and I'm at the last stage - where the Sailor is coming home! It's a wonderful feeling, but I'm terribly ....NERVOUS! ANXIOUS!

I was so excited and happy until recently... now it's coming soon and I am getting nervous. I wake with some anxiety, nervousness, and restlessness. Don't get me wrong, I am still excited! But is this normal?

He is my boyfriend and the man who loves me for me. I am so in love with him. I am moving to a new state to his apartment when he comes home. It's a huge change for me; we haven't lived together before, either. However, I know he is the man for me and we have such a mutual love. We have only been together for just about a year -and a good portion of that was this deployment.

I'm also trying birth control at the moment and the hormones seems to be really messing with my emotions. I just want to know what other people have experienced at this last leg of deployment. I hate feeling anxious, overthinking, worrying, and NOT being super excited as I was a little while ago!

Please help! I really hate feeling this way when I know I love this man and I can't wait for him to be home. =(
