For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi Angee, I have a son on the BATAAN and we are fairly new to all this too. He met up with the ship in Italy right after his A school. Have you gotten on the onbudsman email list? If not that is one thing I would suggest you do. I know they have information on fundraisers and when it gets closer to the return date I am told they will send me more information on where and when to meet with the ship :) Hope this helps, Becky

I haven't been able to find out anything about my son coming home. I was told sometime in Feb. I have text and email the FRO and they couldn't help me. I want to be there when he come home he has been gone for ten months and we miss him so much. If you know of someone esle I can get intouch please help me. The onbudsman said they would get intouch with me but I haven't heard anything. Thank You

How do we stay in touch with them in Africa? My son will be leaving Tues. from Norfolk. His first assignment, that makes us brand new at this!!!!

Hello,
My son left Sat. Nov. 19, 2011 to his first assignment. I received his phone call this morning saying that he is on the bataan. Can anyone tell me what is next or by when can I expect him back. Any information is appreciated, thank you.

My son left on the 20th for the ship and I also recieved the phone call saying he is there. I am totally lost I havent heard from him since then and I dont have an address so I cant even send him anything and I am getting upset.

Patience- my son is on the Bataan and after what seemed like a long time, I got an email with his mailing address. Mail takes about 3 weeks to get to them. Goody boxes are essential. They seem to like treats,cookies, coffee, etc. You can't send anything like chocolate because it melts. I hiope you hear from your son soon. The waiting is tough. Jennifer

Send an email to the umbudsman. I believe that is what they are called. They are like the laison of the ship.
They helped me get in contact with my son when I hadn't heard from him in a long time,, too. Ask them if you can have address. I don't know if I'm allowed to put it in here, but maybe they can do it for you. There should be an email address for them on the ship's website.
