My son has been on the ship now for 5 long months, he is suppose to be going to home in Feb. this I hope . Hasn't been many phone calls home or emails I do understand why.

My son is also on the Bataan. He alos said Feb. Is there any place we can find more info. about meeting them when they come back?

Hi everyone! I am a PROUD USS BATAAN mom as well and very new to this site. My son has been deployed since September. This ship has been deployed for a very long time and I can't wait for this great group of sailors to return home!! We LOVE YOU USS BATAAN!!!!!

Hi everyone I too am a PROUD USS BATAAN MOM, my son has been deployed since March , and I can't wait for him to come home. I miss him so much! I can't wait for someone to let us know when they wil be back, me and the family will be pack and ready to go. God Bless the USS BATAAN SHIP AND ALL THE MEN AND WOMEN ON THE SHIP! MUCH LOVE!

Does anyone have information on the USS Bataan returning? Where to meet them? Time? Can we go on the pier?

Im a proud mom of a sailor that has been in the bataan since day one that he came out from boot camp and im very anxious to see him after this long deployment.  We are also new to all this. MAY THE LORD BLESSING CONTINUE TO BE WITH ALL THE CREW FROM THE BATAAN.

Today (2/4/12) I got an email that the Bataan would be livestreaming the homecoming for those who cannot be pierside. I still don't know about the arrival date, but will have the site up for when it comes in since we can not be there this time. Also, a youtube video stated that this was the longest deployment for the Bataan - so I know everyone is happy that our sailors and the marines with them will be home!

Correction - this is the longest Navy ship deployment since the 1970's per the You Tube video. Hoping to hear from my son  soon! Happy Homecoming to all!

Hi All, My daughter has recently joined the crew and has only been on the ship since Jan. 9th. This is her second enlistment.  She had been on the Truxtun for a while before having her baby and is a CS2. She also has spent a few months in A'stan teaching sanitation. Since she has been away, she has only been able to get to a computer once. As I understand it, there are only about 15 computers with hit or miss internet access for somewhere around 2100 crew members. Interesting that I heard from her every day when she was in A'stan but understandable being on a ship this time. As everyone, we are waiting for their safe return.

Hello USS Bataan Family.  My son is aboard the Bataan and my Daughter is in Chi Town just out of boot camp.  Can't wait to see my son it has been a long deployment.

I am new to this group.  My son joined the crew of the USS Bataan last week.  Hope to hear from some of you.

Louisiana mom has son heading to the Bataan in three weeks.............scary!
