My son was sitting on his bunk one evening and the officer came by and said that he was awfully quiet - he could go make a phone call!! I had just talked to him two days earlier. Got my hopes up that I would hear from him often. I did not get another call until after batttlestations - except I did not know that he had just completed battlestations.!!!
Why oh why can't my son be the quiet one?? lol
Mine must not be either! I have carried both phones with me all day today. My older son went to church this morning and called afterwards. Katie put him on speaker phone and all I hear was Hey Mom. I was doing dishes so I turned around and started saying Bryan, Bryan. I then told him to hold on I had to get the handset. When I got on, my hands were shaking and it was my other son!!! He thought he was so funny! The joke was on me! So I go to bed one more night hanging in suspense!!!!!

I have to share that we out here in So Ca are sweating to death. Mosquitoes everywhere!!!!

Kimberly
Kimberly,
Mosquitos are nothing until you have moved to the south. Coming from Southern California after moving here the mosquitos will carry you away!!
Can't wait to see you guys at graduation! We are going to the dinner now as my parents are going to wait until June to visit us.
Diana
I can't wait to see you guys! The closer it gets the more impatient I become!!!!

The mosquitoes are really bad. I have never seen it like this. I have them hanging around outside the windows and doors. Today it went back to normal April temps. I am grateful!!!!

I will see you at dinner.......I don't know if eating will be my top priority!

Kimberly
Ohhhhhh...they serve food at that restaurant?!!! lol

I think everyone will be too excited to eat - okay...maybe some of the dads will eat!!! It is going to be so nice to meet everyone.

I am not able to focus on anything this week - just holding my breathe waiting for that phone call to come in after BS, once that comes in I will calm down and check the weather report for GL...again!!
what group you guys have really come together. enjoy you meeting!
amber
Thanks Amber, it really has helped getting to know everyone. It has made some very long weeks go by much faster!
It's 5am Monday morning and I'm sitting at the computer crying my eyes out after reading this. I am so excited about PIR as the countdown is now getting near the single digits. I can only imagine what it will finally be like when I lay my eyes on my son who has become a man over the last 8 weeks. God Bless our recruits and families as we make our travels there. I will see you ladies on Thursday night.

And Mary, thank you for working so hard to put this dinner together for us.
Oh Brenda - the teacher in you is coming out!! lol, I think it is Dam Neck (no N)!!! It has been a long while since my husband was stationed there so really cannot recommend restaurants but there was always plenty in the area and I'm sure that has not changed.
I just hate telling everyone my son is at "Dam Neck" - I am not usually a person who talks that way - I spell it everytime I say it!!!

Derek told me he is hungry for (NOT MOM'S GOOD HOME COOKING) - but of all things - SONIC!!!! The only thing really good there is their drinks.

That is a thing that REALLY bugs me about this site is the number of people that don't know when to use there and their. Maybe I could start a grammar forum, then an algebra forum, and if Derek goes to another country - a geography forum.

Of course, after a day without this site and with ninth graders - EVERYTHING bugs me!!!!
Going to work now to teach inmates - who believe it or not - are better than ninth graders!!!
To be honest I would join that forum Brenda, and maybe you could do a spelling forum also ? LOL ( I really suck !!! )
