Thanks so much for sharing the articles about arriving and what happens at RTC. They really helped to ease our minds and hearts during this emotional time. Our sailor recruit is just finishing his 1st 24 hours and it really helped for us to know a little about what he is going through.

My son was sworn in the first time in sept. The waiting. ...it was like starting to plan for Christmas in august. He worked on himself, going to the gym daily. He grew up so much. I have total faith in his decision in it being right for him. The day came to ship to boot camp....January 26th. He was ready which made it easier. Make sure your son does his research to be sure it's what he wants.

Hi there! My son left yesterday as well. (((Hugs)))) I know exactly what you are feeling!

My son flew to Great Lakes yesterday. His plane was delayed and we did not get the 'arrival' phone call until close to 1 am. We are new to the Navy also and a bit anxious as we do not know what to expect. This site has been extremely helpful and informative. Good luck to your recruit!
