Hi.  Glad to be on this site.  My 19 year old nephew arrived at Boot Camp 12/12/11.  His box came Monday, 12/19.  No form letter yet.  Has anyone received a letter from a recruit that arrived on the 12th?  Does anyone from that date have a PIR date yet?  I really miss him and can't wait to hear from him.  I'm praying for him and all the recruits.  This site has helped me out so much learning about what they are doing.  Have appreciated all the forums.  Thanks NavyForMoms.

Good Morning Connie,

Ok then our soon to be sailors will be there one week apart.  We got our Christmas gift from our SR.  he called yesterday evening!  Yes I heard his voice.  We were both emotional on the phone but he sounded good overall. He said he passed his shooting drill with no missed so he got to make a 5 minute phone call.  He really wanted to talk to his Dad.  They are so close and I could tell they both needed that conversation.  What a gift.

Congrats to him on the shooting and to you on the call.  We did not get one but as he just started actual training I was not expecting it.  Glad to hear Dad got to talk to him.

My son departed on Dec. 14th. Rcv'd the letter on Christmas Eve day. He is in Ship 12 Div 074 with a PIR date of 17 Feb. & already planning on going to RTC for it.

Join the group, PIR 02/17/2012, to connect with others with loved ones training with your son.  You may also want to join PIR Reference Information and/or Boot Camp Mom's. Another group to join, or at least check out the Pages and Discussions in, is New Members Stop Here. (Underlined words indicate clickable links.)

My son arrived there the 12th as well.. same with the box....the same day. I havent received a letter yet. I am hoping soon I will. Our PIR date is 2/17/12  He is ship 3 div 071. They did post a photo of his division on the facebook page. What a relief seeing he looked stron & healthy. I am guessing you recieved his form  letter a day or so before christmas.

My son also has a PIR date of 2/17/12 and it is almost 2012 as I write this. He is Ship 12 Div 074. I have not rcv'd a letter either. My son is 28 & married, so his wife might get the first letter, but I know she will tell me when it comes. We are about 4 hours from her. You are so fortunate to have seen a picture of your son.  I guess I will have to like them on Facebook too. Happy New Year!
