Hey Proudmama,

It was my understanding that other moms had and have gotten theirs. If I remember what I've read correctly I thought you could call the RTC and ask about it. I am thinking that someone had to do that before and they were able to help her but I could be wrong. But it certainty couldn't hurt. They should be able to help you.
I know it doesn't answer you completely thou so I hope this helps. Let us know what you find out. Hugs!!

This is what another mom just said on the bc main page.

They did send a separate letter stating that at this time, they have suspended guest attendance at graduation and canceled liberty for the graduates; however, they require you to still send the form back just in case that changes. It states that you will be able to livestream the graduation. The PIR date will be listed in the letter as well. There are recent pictures posted on their facebook page showing what they are doing. Hope this information helps : )

I would call them just to be sure. :)

First of all, when you are logged in, you should see a blue x on the right side of your comments. This allows you to delete a message you posted. So, the above message that did not contain all of the information you were wanting to share, you can delete if you click on that X and I think it should verify that you want to delete it.

As for the empty envelope, was it a legal size envelope? Because I believe they are still mailing the Form letters in legal sized envelopes. If there was a ship address on the envelope return in your son's "Block" writing then that should be his address to mail him. I have never heard of your situation, but that doesn't mean it is not a first.

Here is information from the RTC website's FAQ page that shows how the ship mail should be addressed:RTC - Contacting Recruits

Some of the recent comments on the main BC Mom page have stated that they have also received the Security form and have been asked to go ahead and fill it out and return it, just in case they do open up PIR for outside visitors again. - My apologies, I thought I knew where to go and get a link for you to print out a copy of the security form, but I am not finding it and it is late my time.

Be sure to read through the recent comments on the main group page, as you will see there are varying statements as to time in BC, one lady said her son was in quarantine for I think 30 + days and is just now graduating. If you have what looks like an address that compares with what is in the link that I shared with you - then I would definitely write and send a letter and let your SR know that you never actually received the Form Letter. If you do know his recruiter, you might be able to contact them and see if they have any information, but we generally don't recommend that as their main duty is to get the recruit to MEPS and there is little to no follow up with the families from the recruiter. In your situation, it may be helpful to at least try.

If there is a major set back due to physical fitness or another injury, etc, it is my understanding that you should receive a phone call - be sure to read the other information on the RTC FAQ page. Remember "No News is Good News" - HUGS!

Hello everyone,

This group is wonderful help and very encouraging!

My sons PIR is set for July as he went to BC May 5th and we still have not received form letter. He called last Saturday and we received letters same day but no form letter. Should we be calling someone about this? I understand every SR is unique but we seem a little behind here. We received an empty sealed envelope with his other letter so I'm wondering if that form letter should have been in there? It was sealed so we…

Chipmunk - Thank you! Yes, I try to see the grandbabies at least once a week. I'm not sure how I will handle the time when its comes to when they will be able to leave? My daughter is expecting another baby this fall. She is local and that helps :)

Wow! That app sounds great! I'll have to let my DIL know about it. Thanks for the info.

Good Morning ZanesGma,

I know it's all different now. When you find out something yes please let us know. It can go either way we've had SR's get their letters before the form letter and we've had them not. I always looked at it as a 50/50 chance if I had wanted to mail a letter before hand. It was tempting :) but I waited as I didn't want him to not receive one.

ZanesGma - The uncertainty of the military is what makes this harder than just about any other job, that we as civilians are use to. There is always uncertainty in the world, but knowing that their priority usurps your priorities are hard. Being there for your DIL, and helping her to navigate and finding her support groups is all part of the learning process.

You are doing a great job!! And enjoy loving on those grandbabies while you have them close at hand!! I was able to see my granddaughter for two weekends in a row after she had grown 5 months and now it will be awhile again.

By the way, my other daughter and I were talking about an app called Marco Polo, and I think my oldest mentioned it as well. You can talk and make a video message that can be forwarded like an email, I think. Then when the other person has time, they can respond and reply. My oldest mentioned it to me to suggest to the Navy wives whose husbands were deployed, so they could take videos of the kids doing something cute or saying hi daddy and then being able to email to the ship email or to their phone.

Chipmunk - Yes, I've come to realize that every SR situation is unique. My SR came out of quarantine over a week ago.

My DIL and I both received a couple of text at the same time (very brief) as he was on his way to RTC last week. They obviously gave them back their phones for a short period of time until arriving at BC. He didn't call her to give her his address as I'm assuming it was because 1. He made the decision to text and NOT call or they could only text? 2.…

Reading many comments over the last few weeks I've been on this site, I know that there is a process that they need to go through before they complete the FORM.

As you said, if my DIL receives a call from him I'll make sure that she asks him if he's completed & mailed the FORM home. Praying that it will be some time this week ;)

You're not being harsh at all. You've been a great help and I appreciate all the information so that I can pass it along to my DIL.
