Hi, just sitting here thinking of my SR along with all of his shipmates.  It is tough not hearing from them.  I was hoping for a letter this week, but am hopeful that he will be able to call next week since it will be his 3rd wk at BC.  He is my only child and I am SO PROUD of him as well as all the future sailors that are in BC.  Less than 6 wks before we get to see them graduate; can't wait!!  Looking forward to meeting all the parents at the 10/6 meet and greet!  Has anyone received a letter other than the form letter?
I have been reading that most Sailors leave Friday evening or Saturday for their A School.  I thought that we were able to spend time with them Friday, Saturday and Sunday as long as they were back at the base by 8.  Does anyone know about this, apparently it is a new procedure that they started this Spring.  From what I hear we can meet them at the airport and get a pass and hang out with them until their plane leaves??  I am thankful that A School will be in San Antoinio and I can least reach him by cell or text.
Look at the Page, Liberty and Leaving after PIR, to find out how things work for the weekend after PIR.  You will have time with him on Friday until he has to be back--he will know the time.   Is your SR's rating MA or HM?
Mine is HM...

There are a lot of groups for HM.  Here are some to check out and perhaps you will find one or two that will fit your needs:  HM (Hospital Corpsman) A School in San Antonio, Sailors in A School for Corpsmen, Corpsmens Mom, HM Mom, Corpsman Moms, Corpsmen Moms and Dads, Moms of Hospital Corpsman, and/or Hostipal Corpsman <girlfriends-wives-moms>.

When my daughter was there in March we got to spend Friday, Saturday and Sunday with her, but she was going to A-school in Chicago. My son will be going to A-school in Florida so he will be a grab and go. Grab and go get to leave straight from graduation to spend time with family but have to be back in barracks by 9pm. They will then leave for their school the next day. If your sailor is not a grab and go then you'll have to wait around for them to go check in to where they are going. I had to go sign my daughter out at 5am in the morning and sign her back in by 9pm.
PS: Did anyone else from Division 338 get phone calls from their loved ones the first Sunday? I'm trying to figure out if that was normal or not. =)
No didn't get a call. I got one when he step foot that monday aug 15. It was like a 10 sec call from his cell phone.
Huh. I'm trying to figure out why he got to call that Sunday. Guess I'll just have to wait until he tells me in a letter.

Yea maybe he did something to get is a reward. I'm happy for you though! hehe. I defiantly can't wait for a first letter!

I just picked up a phone card to mail him tomorrow. I've only written 2 letters, because I don't want to overwhelm him. I know he will be getting a ton. Lol.

I just want to read something from him for reassurance!

Hehe I'm onnnnn my seventh letter haha *blush*

Yea same here defiantly can't wait for that.

I got in his form letter that said "basic is easy" I think they start pt this week, doubt he is thinking that now lol.
