Susan

Susan, I've been watching that for the last few weeks... I hope you have speedy fingers!!  I can't access FB on my computer at work, it's blocked.  And there is no way, I can type the answers as quick as others by way of my phone.  I'll be cheering you on & hoping that someone gets one of our divisions pictures posted.

Sheila I do have fast fingers (140+/min) and what's so bad i woke up this am thinking gas chamber so if i would've known his darn division i may have gotten it!!! Can't promise tomorrow since i will be at the dentist :-( but i darn well will try!!! Lol!!
True Gina ...due to so many requests for random photos Rtc stopped doing those so pls don't ask!!! If u go to the discussions tab on that page I have started a discussion for 07/340 as well. Please note that in this page we cannot mention n4m as this fb page is official Navy!
I look so forward to meeting u all!
Susan
I don't know if I will be able to attend the ceremony due to the cost.  I checked into airfare, and the cheapest from where I live is $240 a person, round trip.  I would need 2 tickets, plus the cost of hotel for 3 days and a rental car.  I am looking at close to $1000!  I feel like a horrible mother!  Is anyone else out there unable to attend?

Go to bookingbuddy.com and search for best price also, ask them to email you if there are specials to and from Austin and Chicago.... some include hotel, rental car for a low price.... Booking on Tuesday and Wednesday always will get the best price.... just start looking over the next few weeks.... you may find something you feel you could afford.

I am trying to figure out what I can hawk to get there :)  I've searched the discount sites and Priceline (oh great I hope it was Priceline) has a great deal of around $360 which includes hotel and car rental and thats coming from CA, but of course that is per person.  I sure hope you can make it!

Shannon

I don't know if that included taxes or not, I am a little leary of booking all together, I have never done that so I did some more research and came up with individual car rental 4 days, hotel 3 nights and airfair all total it will be about $450 - $470 to go. And one of the motels I looked into had a full kitchenette to save on eating out.

Kayak.com is another... besides booking buddy, they are search engines for several companies including priceline and individual airlines, makes it easy to check several sites without re-entering information. You can check flight prices as well as a packaged deal. We travel, and my husband travels for business, so it can be a life saver. Also, remember to book on Tuesday, Wednesday for your best price... it will go back up after that and then back down the following week.... amazing how they do that.
Yes it does save money, but I have never actually used it so I am a little leary to do so for this important event.
Its on the main page and u comment on the post to answer it. It gets answered within seconds so u have to hope u refresh at the right time to get it and u can answer it quick.
Good evening!!  My stepson is 3/335, and PIR October 7.  We have all 4 spots filled, and I'm going on standbye.. hoping to be able to get into the actual ceremony.  If you happen to know of any SR with 1 extra spot that they might be willing to put me on their list... please let me know!  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
